BluePrint Denver Released! YESSS!!!!!

FS9/FSX. Finally! What we have been needing is a proper Denver airport and BluePrint is delivering it to us featuring highly detailed, full-3D models as represented in BluePrint’s ultimate True3D technology! Sounds like some very advanced stuff indeed!! The scenery also includes every gate available at each of the three concourses. Each gate is accurately numbered and equipped with a static jetway! Because static jetways are by far the best option for today's simmer! BluePrint’s KDEN scenery also depicts the runway and taxiway complex superimposed on a set of high-resolution, custom-made terrain textures positioned as accurately as it is possible in the flight simulator environment! We'll it just can't possibly get any better than this! It is sure to blow away any future competition! And it will pair great with your Abacus or AFS Design A320 and A350! Sweet!

Yeah, that indeed tops a Flightbeam KDEN with moving jetways and a just docking FSL A320 (or AirbusX for my sake).

I like the default FSX version better.

Abacus beats PMDG any day.

Oh Happy Day!! The Abacus A320 paired with Blueprint Denver is a simmer's heaven. It's amazing how far the reality and immersion has become in FS. I did not think we could get any better than FlyTampa and FlightBeam sceneries but obviously I was wrong.....for those not familiar with sarcasm please do not spend any of your hard earned dollars on this.

Kaman said...

Woohoo best scenery of all times i guess! Come on...lets be serious here

Dougal said...

Yeah I know Blueprint isn't the best but this is just an immature post and if I had created this scenery I would be very offended.

Rick frost. said...

There's no need to be a douche.

Yes, their products aren't exactly top of the line in terms of quality, but I bet it's far superior to anything YOU and any of the other button feeders who commented can produce, you condescending prick.

Emil said...

Agree with you Dougal...

Codey Wynne said...

I have to agree with the comments above, while this is not comparable with other companies quality, this is the type of statement that leads to the community losing developers. An extreme amount of effort and time goes into these projects, my project for example, Just for fs9 I spent 6 months full time (16+ hours a day) to release my product. This is highly uncalled for.

Adi Sahar said...

It costs half as much as Flightbeam so maybe, just maybe it does fit a certain audience. I think the FS scene has come a long way with guys like FT, FB, T2G, FSDG, ORBX etc', putting out amazing scenery products. So, there's now a certain standard, a certain threshold which you don't see yourself going back from, and I think that's the problem with this product. Personally, I don't see myself spending near 20$, while for 15$ more you get a far superior payware Denver from Flightbeam. I hope that sums it. I wish BP learn from this and increase their skills massively on their next project. We can see how T2G did just that and look at their recent projects - amazing success !

DAndre Newman said...

And Adi explains my thoughts perfectly. There is nothing wrong with comparing the product with products of similar quality. When you pair that with the price, it's really not right.

Flyer said...

They are getting better.

Airspeed said...

Maybe they do not need to get better. If you start comparing everything in the simming world to companies like ORBX or FlyTampa, then many will fall short. I do not think every company has to compete if they are satisfied with their product and clientele. Obviously they are still doing it and are still around. Do not buy it. It is as simple as that, but no one has the right to MOCK anyone who does.

DAndre Newman said...

You know what Flyer, I will agree with you there. Whereas this still looks like FS2002 quality, this is their best looking scenery to date. I will give that credit.

DAndre Newman said...

Sarcasm or not, nothing negative was actually said regardless of understood implication. And if their are BP fans on ADX it will likely lead to sales anyway because let's face it, no one else has promoted this release as yet. And not everyone doesn't need to be like FlyTampa or the like. Why does everyone keep comparing to the very best? I would just like to see them get as good as their price offering level.

Kyle Schurb said...

Hmmm... I've been an everyday reader of ADX for a while now, but this post is certainly rubbing me the wrong way. Filled with sarcasm and jabs like "And it will pair great with your Abacus or AFS Design A320 and A350! Sweet," which are uncalled for. In a discussion forum or something, comments like this can be expected, or even in the replies here from other users, but should not be done from a website looking to be taken professionally and seriously. I am disappointed in this post, sorry to say.

DAndre Newman said...

Thats perfectly okay for you to feel that way. I allow all readers to rant and from time to time I will rant also. I just like to do it my way. I earned the right.

ALX WNT said...

I HATE overpriced products, if there's something needs to be faced, it's the fact that most of the freeware developers over avsim or flightsim do more quality job than this, and it's freeware.

I dont have problems with BP, I do have problems with overpriced horrible products. BP stayed faaaaar behind in FS business.

Lee Marrow said...

I agree , a bit harsh

Denzel said...

No No seriously, Blueprint should release for free now
their projects are a light years away from those of FSDT, FLIGHTBEAM, FLYTAMPA, T2G and so on
i think Even for free I do not want

fork said...

hmm...I thought this "article" was done in poor taste. As a sim news source, you guys should be posting unbiased articles on new add-on scenery, planes, etc...No need to make fun of a developer's skill or products. I expect that from the comments section but not the editor/author of the article.

DAndre Newman said...

This is not the kind of site you obviously think it is mr fork. It is an opinion blog not the Wall Street Journal hence the term "Insolent" in our title.

Every now and then I like to express my opinion and I will do so however I like. This is not secret for those who have followed over the years. It's not often by any means. But, I will do so from time to time. After all, it's my site ;)

Adi Sahar said...

In continuance to my first comment on this.. I just saw on their website, that they plan on releasing a version of KSFO in early 2014. What is going through their minds? They seem to be completely disconnected from reality. I mean, there's an already awesome KSFO by FB.. why would people want to buy a new version that is much inferior? I really don't understand the business model here... no one does it just for fun, it's made to create some income as well. Maybe I'm missing something ?

Airspeed said...

@ Denzel, I agree that BP scenery should be free as long as you agree to going to work 1 year without pay. Expecting something for free because you for some reason think that you deserve it for free does not justify it. You really must be flying, or at least your head is in the clouds.

Ian G said...

Brief OpEd here: One thing that always irks me is people bashing freeware. When someone is developing for a hobby and then makes it available for all out of their own good will only to get negative feedback there is obviously something wrong going on. However....

The moment you put a price tag on something you are subjecting yourself to judgement and that judgement is rightfully deserved. If this were the food industry and McDonald's was charging 5 star restaurant prices people would cry foul just the same as here. I don't know what the cost is of this product, I haven't bothered to look but the point is that one must maintain a certain perspective on all things you pay for. For one, is it worth your money or not... if not, don't buy it. But also, if you are the McDonalds of the FS scenery developers, know your place, price your products accordingly and don't expect people to think your stuff is the best they've ever had. After all, the McRib isn't a prime rib but it doesn't cost the same either.

The point of all this, and please note that I am not comparing Blue Print to McDonald's here, is that when you are indeed charging for your product, expect to be judged. I hate McDonald's food so I don't buy it, eat it, recommend it or speak highly of it. For that matter, I've never seen a BP scenery I thought looked worth my money so I've never bought one, nor have I recommended it or spoken about it at all until now.

Oh, and a gazillion people or something have been served by McDonald's so apparently there is a market for quick cheap and inferior quality. Blue Print must have their own customer base for their own specific reasons as well. It just apparently doesn't contain D'Andre... or myself for that matter.

I agree that BP doesn't make the quality that we are used of now. And the price... well it is what you give for it.

If I want to fly on IVAO or VATSIM, have a lower end computer, low budget and don't want to see traffic IN the default square terminal or taking off on grass because the new runway was not in the default FSX scenery yet, I would definitely consider to buy this. Really.

But since I have a better PC and care about quality (pure opinions) in stead of planes standing at the right position or what so ever... I would consider a higher quality and a little more expensive airport like Flightbeam is working on now.

It really depends on what your intentions are in FlightSim. I would call this better than default of course, but not the best. And the price.... lets not talk about that.

Lets just hope they improve a little with their quality.
What I do like of BP sim is that they make a lot of airports that were not released or never will be released for FS. Like MSP, no one except BP made one! Quality sucks of course, but ey... you get the visuals of an airport!

Oh and about opinions and sarcasm in a post, well maybe you know me... I would do the same ;) Opinions are opinions, even when they don't look as professional as we expected to be. Even normal media does this sometimes, well at least in the Netherlands!

Cheers!

A few things, my fellow simmers: Blueprint's KDEN seems really accurately modelled. Will come to FS9. Much better than default. It's 17.50$ so not too overpriced. Performs good on lower end machines.
The thruth is I'm a big fan of Flightbeam, never had, and never will have BP's products. Those are just for other people. But saying that it should be free is ignorant. Obviously you don't know, how much work goes into modeling. Try sketchup, than judge. I think that BP doesn't want top quality scenery is not a coincidence. I'm sure they could do it if they wanted to. They do really good models, which is the most challenging in scenery development in my opinion.
And I know what happened between them and D'Andre in the past, so I can accept his opinion too, but I can not agree with it.
Have a good day!

Blueprint: is a lot like a club I walked into after not seeing it for 20 years. The walls were still the same. The décor was still the same. Never put a dime into renovation. Dull and lifeless.

Denzel said...

@Airspeed
What I meant in my comment is that blueprint should not marketed a product of such poor quality, no matter the work realized in the year, if you want to be paid, the work must be quality, as FSDT and so on, that's my point of view

BP has a customer base, otherwise they wouldn't be making new scenery. I don't buy BP scenery because it's not something I want in my sim, but I also don't mock BP for selling it. There is a time and place for everything and if I read this post on April 1st, it would have been funny. Around this holiday time of year, it's just in poor taste to be mocking developers. The owners can do as they wish, but that doesn't make it the right thing to do.

ALSG X-plane said...

Indeed this is some immature post, but what would you expect? these bloggers are immature and they cant change themselves. Although this scenery isn't decent looking for most flight-simmers, I can see lots of hard-work put into this product.

PT said...

I can also agree, this post is immature, although their sceneries aren't very decent looking for most of us flightsimmers. I can see alot of hardwork and honest effort put into this product.

DAndre Newman said...

This coming from a X-Plane fan?

DAndre Newman said...

I see and yet one of the things readers rely on most is to know prior to purchase if products are worthwhile. As for the holiday, makes no difference. And no one is "mocking developers" your statement is too broad based.

DAndre Newman said...

You will find more what you perceive to be "immature" posts here in the future so for the record, there are other news sites out there that work in the way YOU EXPECT them to work. Feel free to visit those instead of this one. No opinion, no personality, no joking, no sarcasm. Just good 'ol plain news every few days... or weeks... or whatever. But as for ADX, our drum, our beat. The post is not that bad. It really is FS2002 quality work this developer is expecting people to pay for. And my feelings are the same for Abacus and AFS. Want to get on my ass for bad mouthing those developers too?

PT said...

From what I see you DAndre are the only one in this blog who post these kinds of posts.... I came here for the latest news in the flightsim community...because sadly many devs chosen this blog site to give their latest updates on their work.

This post shows how blinded you are, I see nothing but ignorance, yes...you and the others perceive the quality as fs2002 standard, but you never thought about the hardwork effor put into the product, its all "this looks beautiful, so i praise it, and this looks shit, so i will make a post full of sarcasm about this release".
