FlightBeam is going to Denver!

FSX/P3D. As always, AirDailyX will be on the forefront to bring you development previews as they happen and hopefully some exclusives as well so stay tuned! Projected release time frame is closer than you might think!

A note about KDEN from FlightBeam:

 - Largest airport in the U.S., 35,000 acres
 - 5th busiest airport in the world in terms of aircraft movement
 - 11th busiest airport in the world in terms of passengers
 - Longest runway in the U.S., Runway 16R/34L stretching 16,000 ft / 4877 m
 - Airport elevation: 5434ft
 - Voted "Best Airport in North America" six years in a row by Business Traveler Magazine
 - A huge number of gates and variety of aircraft

Once again we will deliver another mega airport (done properly) with cutting edge visuals, as we consistently surpass the quality of our previous products.

Our roadmap puts KDEN out for release around Q4 2013 - Q1 2014, with a much shorter production time expected compared to KIAD.

Official press statement here:  https://www.facebook.com/FlightbeamStudios?ref=stream&hc_location=stream

As we well know ImagineSim has a very good Denver already available. In a response to a Facebook fan, FB has this to say: "Very few big airports have not been made, or would be insanely long production to make. SLC is due for major makeover, so we would have to spend another 4 months at a future time to re-do it. We specialize in large airports because we can do extreme optimizations to make them run properly on everyone's computers."

This statement is quite true actually. Many developers are now putting focus on the US so it's only a matter of time before we really start to see this sort of thing happen more often I suppose. But at the end of the day, it's the votes that have spoken.

People did want DEN. BUT because people were cheating with making multiple acounts, they made their own choise. So this is NOT the voters choice!

Just got KIAD a couple of days ago, been into and out of Dulles 3 or 4 times now. Great performance considering the complexity of it all, in the NGX for that matter...

Denver will be a great destination...

Why should any developer not go ahead with a project that has been approached by another developer? Great for choice if you ask me... May the best team win...

It is as if this is some kind of gentleman's club or something. "We don't want to step on XYZ's toes..."

" You want Denver "
The result votes about this page ...???
Denver with 12 % public choice versus KSLC 31 % ??? ...

DAndre Newman said...

Yes as it turned out, the voters tried to rig the voting process. We are aware of this now.

DAndre Newman said...

Perhaps and perhaps not. We will never actually know will we? This is what happens when people refuse to follow simple rules. So decisions have to be made one way or the other. It's sad really. This developer gave the community an option and this is the response.

I see why developers are reluctant to do things like this these days.

For make a good votes ... the idea are send the registry keys about one previous product purchased ... and only one vote by purchase ...
If you buy 3 product, you have 3 votes, if you buy only one product you have only one vote ... And in this case, that's corect users choice ...
But now, Denver are not my choice ... but I think that's a great scenery also !

Rember Mir said that the votes where for the airport after project x project x probably is denver

DAndre Newman said...

Project X is not in the US.

Jack said...

Maybe they will do SLC next, it's a major US airport that hasn't been done at all since Gary's version for FS9 nearly 10 years ago.

AutoRotationer said...

I voted for Denver and couldn't be happier!

Any news on the FB non US airport [unannounced project]?

That would be more interesting, at least for me. ;)

First of all..

All people who complain about 'oh another denver, great.' guys must be tortured, crucified, tortured and crucified again.

/sarcasm

Ok seriously, are you serious ?

I mean, FB is making Denver Intl, the 5th biggest airport of the world, you will have this airport with FB quality, meaning decent frames and HD stuff.

I wouldn't complain about it. You possibly have at least one ImagineSim scenery and you should admit that it's not gonna catch up FB or something.

Yes, we'll have two Denver maybe but we'll have better (probably the best one in the market)

It's better than nothing, considering some smart'people' manipulated the vote.

And again, if you still want to complain about duplicate stuff, complain about 737s...

I lost count after 10, how many 737 we have in FS market ?

Cheers

Denver will be great. Complaining about how it may have have been "Unfairly" attained will not help. It is what it is and FlightBeam is going ahead with it. As for the non U.S airport, CYYC needs the love.

Jack said...

I generally agree with you, especially seeing as this DEN will without doubt be the best DEN on the market. I think the people who are most vocal about duplicates are tired of seeing one version after another done to a more...inferior level than they would like (Blueprint for example). This is not something that needs to be worried about with Flightbeam though. To your example of 737s, keeping in mind the different generations, you had iFly for the 737NG, then PMDG rolled out a far superior product with the NGX, a worthwhile upgrade. For the 737 Classics, you only have Wilco at the moment, but Enigmasim is putting together what looks to be another far superior final product, another worthwhile upgrade. NGs and Classics are different planes, you can't really lump all 737s together.

But alas, a perfect world would see better co-op between developers to put out extraordinary products all the time and not have to worry about duplicates. Looking forward to DEN though, Flightbeam hasn't disappointed me yet!

I hope project X is Kansai...or Beijing...or Shanghai...Or Cape Town....or Johannesburg...or Doha (new or old)...or Singapore...or Hong Kong...or Cebu...or Domodedovo...or Cancun...or A new Barajas...or Naples...or Malaysia...or Buenos Aires...or Seoul...

Just a few...

Another airport that I will NOT buy from FlightBeam, after KIAD.

There is a very good Denver, again from ImagineSim.

If FlightBeam cannot offer anything new to the community, well then I guess its bankcrupty will not harm the community.

Again, as a consumer-customer, my only defence is my wallet. And again it will not be available for FlightBeam.

Sweet Monkey said...

This is getting "gooder" and "gooder" :). Hope they remake all the older mega Airports. Can you say "Job security" anyone, anyone ..

Jack said...

Would be nice if they did Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo all in one Moscow package.

Jack said...

I hardly think they are going to go bankrupt, that's not how flight sim companies work and it's over-dramatic. There will be plenty of pleased customers that will continue supporting Flightbeam for the quality of the work they do, after all, companies that are far less concerned with quality are still going, look at Wilco and Abacus.

Unknown said...

I really want to know what their secret airport is. But I am looking forward for KDEN.

anoncanon said...

For your information, the KDEN from Imaginesim is outdated and not up to par with today's standards. Your statement simply absurd and pathetic, do you really think they will go bankrupt? Do you have any idea how popular of a addon designer they are in the market right now? No. You obviously have yet to do your research.

anoncanon said...

I absolutely agree with Jack...

Todd said...

I can assure you, FlightBeam isn't going anywhere. It's a shame you won't buy KIAD, because you don't know what you are missing. As for KDEN, I like ImagineSim's version, but I don't like the fact IS can't get something as simple as the runway markings correct. It's been 2 years, and he still hasn't released a fix. Unlike others I don't need every airport to be HD, but I want my airports to be correct, and completely omitting the 500 ft TD zone marks is a bad error. Go to the IS website and check the screenies yourself.

DAndre Newman said...

SLC is not going to happen. Too many real world changes taking place.

Jack said...

You're probably right, just day dreaming. Although, I hold on to a glimmer of hope as it was on their list for consideration.

flynryan692 said...

Imaginesim already has a very good Denver? Is this some sort of troll? I could LIST the things wrong with that "airport". What a terrible product.

Anyway, I am excited for a GOOD version of Denver to be made, accurately. Denver is my "second home airport".

▓ said...

Maybe an airport in Asia.

Bert pike said...

Imaginesim's version isn't super great but it's good enough for this to be a terrible decision by FB.

p3 said...

WHY ?!?!?!?!

KSLC, KMSP - these airports are so beautiful, whilst KDEN looks like the last turd I took.

Aaron said...

There is very little good about Imaginesim's version. Poor modeling, poor texturing, horrific performance, really bad taxiways and aprons.... I could go on. Those using the "it's already got a good version" argument simply are reaching for reasons to complain about their preferred airport not being done. It's fine that one can be upset with the choice, but please at least use a legitimate point for doing so.

Unknown said...

I voted for MSP, but I'll definitely buy this one too. I really hope the unannounced project will be EHAM or EDDF!

ALE said...

Let me put it another way...

Flightbeam's Denver I will definitely consider purchasing, after seeing their version of KIAD. ImagineSim's I did not consider, based on the reviews...

I had the old KIAD for FS9. I never installed the update/upgrade for FSX...
Now I have an all-singing, all-dancing KIAD in FSX...

Turd???????????? Come on!!!

Commenting Simmer said...

To anoncanon:

ImagineSim's KDEN is NOT outdated.

Why?

The only criteria for an outdated airport is a change in runways, addition, closing, or lengthening or runways.

Anything else does not make an airport outdated.

anonball said...

lol what a fanboy...

Bob said...

Aerosoft should make Denver city so we can have a complete package.

Prop Strike said...

I purchased ImanginSim's KDEN and was very disappointed with the problems with the product that never got fixed. Aircraft sinking below the scenery on the east side, planes bouncing and kicking up dirt when on aprons, PAPI systems all screwed up, missing taxiway lights on certain taxiways etc, etc.

Even after submitting these issues, nothing, no fix no comment.

Like you Commenting Simmer I vote with my wallet too, and ImagineSim never received my hard earned money again.

Choice and competition are always a good thing. This way everyone gets what they perceive is better.

David said...

If p3 studies his turds so closely he can compare them to airports, that speaks volumes about his personality. In all my years with FS, I've never known someone that enjoys his turds as much as his flight sim. LOL

Commenting Simmer said...

We do not need any of those.

Aerosoft is currently updating its own EDDF.

And its EHAM, although heavy on fps, it simply cannot be done better, due to the number and complexity of the airport terminals and buildings (too many polygons needed). It's the same case as KSEA and the New York area.

So, we do not need FlightBeam to waste its time again, after KIAD and KDEN.

We need FlightBeam to make airports that have not been done, or that have not been done well-enough and can be done better.

DMac10121 said...

I haven't given it much thought, but seeing as Project X is a major international airport and likely wasn't one of their options for choices, my guess would be an airport in Asia (seeing as Aerosoft has covered much of Europe and FlightBeam has targeted airports that no one has seriously attemped before). My guesses for Project X would be Seoul-Incheon or Beijing-Capital.
