Bought and tried with a quick session... can't tell much about the fde yet, but damn, it looks so good and sounds amazing... the wait was worth it imo!

Great to hear it looks and sounds good. Looking forward to hear more about the FDE if you have tested the helicopter better.

As a skilled FS helicopter pilot, I will let you know how she performs. Maybe a live twitch? I can try...

Also interested in the flight model... Alabeao an Carenado have the graphics down like nobody else, but the way their models fly is not always up to snuff. I'm also not an experienced Heli pilot so would love to hear from those who are...

Bought it. Fun to fly. Will be interested if the FDE is close to real, however as I will possibly never fly a real one. Going to enjoy it just the same.

Yeh, I say stream review it. :)

A little insight on the sound.. when you bank, the engine sound transforms with a surging effect... VERY nice.

A friend of mine who bought it as well is saying that he feels this chopper is way better handling than any other chopper he tried in fsx. I guess it's better to buy and find out for yourself though.. not expensive at all at this price point... truly reminds me of why Alabeo exists! :)

Ill try. P3D and OBS dont like to get along...

Well by their nature choppers are not easy to handle... if it handles too well, I wonder if the model has been "dumbed down" at all. Should feel a lot like balancing a top on a table thats tilting back and forth.

I wouldn't bother with helicopters in FSX. The best you can get is the Dodosim 206. It's not that there aren't talented enough helo developers out there, it's more the limitations of the FSX engine that hinders realistic helo flight dynamics. IMO, best place to fly helos are in DCS: World or X-Plane. Once you have flown a helicopters in either one of those sims, you will never consider flying helos in FSX again. I like Alabeo, they make cheap, good looking planes and now copters but I'd never buy a helo from them, at least not for FSX.

I'll be honest. Some take the whole home-sim business way too seriously. Aircraft like the ones Alabeo make are great arcade fun and nothing is wrong with that. What matters is the fun factor. Remember, it's a program licensed for entertainment, not real life ventures. The Dodosim is a very outdated looking model so it lacks immersion in that regard, each coin has a flip side. I also think an R66 is way more exotic than the plain jane 206.

Also, p3d 2.0 is coming and that may, sooner or later, improve rotor simulation so indeed if it does, you will definitely enjoy helos on the newer fsx platform.

Each to his own brother, each to his own.

Oh the FDE is very good! Just set all sliders to realistic. People complain helicopters are not real enough. We'll I am not planning to become a helicopter pilot anytime soon and the flight dynamics are good enough for me and among the best I have seen. Review coming soon!

DCS World is the place for helo's if you want RL FDE.
When you tried it once, you'll never go back for helo's to FSX it's addicting, you have been warned:)
