Pick your product!

[FS News] Yeah it's been a bit of a tough month so far news wise... So I thought I would try something. We did this with FTX Global and it was hugely successful! So if there is a product you want but are not sure to buy it, put your request here in this post. If we have it, I will create some exclusive screenshots and a few thoughts for you to help with your decision. Should keep us all busy till things pick up! And should help you too!

I hope that you will leave my product alone for tests with High fps consuming addons... as all of minimum requirements will be provided to read before purchase as well as screens and intro videos.. Fairly enough to make a decision.

If it's so slow get Mark to do one of his rants or Dominique to do one of his interesting destination posts. Just a suggestion.

Im not going to get anyone to do anything. If anyone wants to contribute an article, they are more than welcome to do so. :)

Okay he sells them separately. We don't have the FSX version yet. I'll send a request.

How about this. The point of the product whether it is good or not is the question.
Why the hell can anyone not say anything negative about PMDG without fear of reprisal?
If the product is so damn good, why can't they take any criticisms? From what I gather, Avsim has dealt many permanent bans because of it. Someone had posted on the Vatsim facebook that he was not in favor of THE T7 and was attacked because of it. What gives? Is this what things have come down to?

The new Flight1 KingAir B200 :-)

Haven't found a review yet and the first user experiences are also a little bit mixed. And it's quite expensive after all...

DAndre Newman said...

What negative things can be said of their products? They seem the be very solid and throughly constructed to me. Is your experience with their products bad? What negative things need to be said? What was said before that got people. Banned?

Looking at someone wrong at AVSIM can get you banned...just say'n.

Ok, how about FSGRW from Pilots. I have been eyeing this for a while, I have the demo, but still am not sure whether to get it. I also own REX, but it is very heavy on my system. perhaps someone can give the lowdown on all of it's features (in layman's terms) and how well it performs and how it stacks up against other weather generators?

Hey Tim,

Sadly this one will not be possible due to Flight1's MO regarding P3D and the fact that they are actively trying to make their products incompatible with it. I have no respect for that activity.

Besides that, I don't run FSX.

Sorry about this.

These days no one seems to be able to say anything bad about PMDG. I am a happy customer, generally speaking. However, I do not use their support forum for the precise reason that it resembles more a fan boy club than an actual support forum. They basically do not have a support forum. I think Bart is referring to one of the beta testers on the T7 that was removed from the program based on his criticism of the texturing and fluid dynamics on the upcoming T7, which were made on the AVSIM forum after the NDA was lifted and PMDG appeared to have blessed any reviews coming from the beta testers. After that a direct question directed to one of the beta testers on whether they are allowed to say anything on what needs to improve on the T7 publicly, was answered in silence. I do respect PMDG, but their products to have flaws. The difference is that they shut up any criticism, and basically own the largest forum on the FS scene. They even sound ridiculous at times, especially if you happen to be professionally involved in the subject being discussed. They look down on their customers. They are arrogant, full of themselves, do not listen to customers and use the power they have over AVSIM to ban any possible negative thought on their products... but... Their products work out of the box, they do make the most realistic aircraft simulations in this hobby, their visuals are very nice, their ticket support system is really good if you cannot stand the forums, their products come with a full set of documentation, they do not sell half finished stuff and do not take your money on a false pretense... So yeah sorry for the long post, I have ranted at stuff they do and their behavior, but who are we kidding here? They are one of finest companies working on this hobby, so we might get frustrated from time to time, but we're still getting our cards out of the wallet and paying them what they deserve for the hard work they put into this.

FS Global Real Weather. I am really interested to know how well it depicts real world weather, wind shifts, fronts, FPS performance.

I have held off buying this product until I can get a real sense of it. That and any disposable income is being marked for the PMDG 777.

Well FranceVFR Paris i had in FS2004 but was too heavy on frames...hows it for FSX?

Tim said...

Ah yes, I remember. That's a pity!

Thanks for replying :-)

According you are running P3D, surely you won't review the CoolsKy DC-9, but it would be great a review about this plane.

It would be nice a look over some plane of Vertigo Studios (F8F?) or any of Flight Replicas (Boomerang or P40N). The Classic Hangar Taifun would be a nice review too. Good developers that are not as known as others.

Belisar is correct DAndre with his reply. AS along a company does crap like this, they will NEVER get a penny out of me. As for complaints, well there is many a scenery developers forums with OOM (NGX)complaints to name one.
Superegos are so fragile and the easiest broken...........

If possible, I'd like to see something on GSX having seen the reactions towards the latest AES release. It would seem many hold GSX in high regard. I looked at it the other day and almost purchased it but baulked in the end. It will sit in the back of my mind until I see more.

Also holding out on FS Global Real Weather. Really want to know how it fairs in comparison to Opus. Currently using REX but want to switch to Opus or FSGRW ideally asap but no idea which is best, how they compare at real weather experience etc. Any info would surely prove invaluable to many in the same dilemma.
Thanks.
