It's a MilViz... uh.. umm...

FSX. As fond as I am of WW2 and it's various aircraft, I am quite embarrassed to say that i'm stuck on this one. At first glance I thought it was an Ilyushin Il-2. But on closer glance, and that tail logo... i'd have to say it's perhaps a..... Stuka!! Someone please correct me. In the mean time, check out these awesome shots!! And it may or may not be able to actually fire the gun and drop exploding bombs in FSX... MilViz is good!

JU-87 Stuka for sure.

Hehehe, the dive siren is also apparently included according to their details :)

Tasteless: nobody even in reality restores a Stuka (and will never get a certification at all), what for ? It was a terror weapon without any strategic value...nobody needs this. Its different than any other warbird.

And for some really crazy reason... I want one... does that make me a bad person?

Looking forward to carrying out the dive and recover maneuver.

the Stuka was a very important asset to the Luftwaffe. Its role as a tank-buster and dive bomber was extremely important. Its only read downside was it was to slow and easy to pick off by any half decent fighter.

It's the grandfather of A10 Thunderbolt. Why do you think it's gattling weapon and main engines make horrible sound during attacks ? Where did this idea come from ? You might consider Stuka as terror weapon but it will change it's importance in engineering and military aviation. Same goes for any German weapons. The modern warfare, tactics we're using is basically upgraded version of German ancestors.

Like it or not, this is the truth. If you think it's terror or such, stop using airplanes or anything with jet engine. Also stop using your car. Stop using your camera and lens. Every civilian tech comes from military technology or progress.

Your right, later on during the war it becomes very succesfull on that. But the basic design role from the engineers was not point bombing.

I just remember a story during the mid 80s: i guy from UK wants to build a replica from the JU-87 and didnt get an admission from the UK aviation authorities, so he tried it in nearly all western europe countries, without success. After spending lots of time and money in that project, he gives it up and burned down the thing in front of his home (must be a video somewhere). rophl xD

my friend and I used to fly the Stuka all the time in the old PS2 game Secret Weapons Over Normandy, the dive siren was way to much fun

@ALX: Well said! It's the truth many won't admit.

Should I scrap my 240HP 6speed turbo Passat because Hitler created Volkswagen?

Much modern technology we use today was due do these advancements in WW2. There is a reason America sought after many German scientists after the war.

The point is, that the Stuka is the identification symbol for some neo-nazis groups here in germany, so - sorry fellas - I dont want this thing on my PC (even if it would be the best addon ever made for FSX)

@DAndre: Of course, it is OK: it is a simulator only, and bye the way it was an important step in aviation history. But I am sure if you fly online on VATSIM/IVAO with that, you wouldnt make your self any new friends (or better to say, not the kind of friends, you might be looking for^^)

Can't get the point here. The stuka killed people. Alright, so WHAT EXACTLY is different to other fighters? You still fly other fighters. OK, civilians were killed and a dictator was the commander. So, do you fly MiGs used by the Iraqi Airforce to attack the kurds after Desert Storm?

I can't wait for the discussions over here at germany when they release the Stuka....

But you do know that "blockbuster" is not only a movie chain? And you also might know which piece of machinery was used to carry them? It is also a symbol that costed lots of lives.

Andreas Woerner,

i do not share your endless discussions about every plane used at any of the much wars in the world. That discussion and your point of view is ok, but not that endless.

This is an addon for FSX. FSX is an more or less advanced aircraft systems simulation up to addon developers developement quality. There are no weapons simulated. FSX users are interested in well done products in its flying and engine systems. I am sure simmers interested in weapons are usin other games and platforms than FSX.

Some are interested in aircraft systems used at that past time the Stuka was in service, but not in the war point of view.

Again, i do not share this "endless" discussion with every war plane. I want high aircraft system quality, notzhing more. What kind of plane that will be is secondary.

What are you talking about ? I never wrote any comment about a warbird before, not in here and nowhere else. And I couldnt see any "endless" discussion !

Ok Andreas, so maybe my interpretation was wrong.

No offense ;-)
