FS9/FSX. UK2000 has shown a couple unofficial shots on their Luton project in progress. There are some construction projects taking place there and Gary is trying to make the airport as up to date as possible. If you live near Luton, be sure to take some pictures and send them to UK2000. For the mean time, here is your proof that Luton is on the way! I just wish Gary took better quality screenshots!

Not to put Gary down but I think he has lost his magic touch. I have purchased many of his sceneries over the years but his texturing and scenery quality is beginning to show his age and he is failing to keep up with the latest trends in scenery design such as texture baking, HD textures and his often 'washed out' aerial images. It seems the old scenery masters such as UK2000, FSDT and SimWings are loosing their special touch.
I really hate to say this but im finding myself agreeing with you...
Agreed here too. The conpetition is so far ahead nowadays. Some teams keep up, but some aren't.
Guys Like Flytampa and Flightbeam are truly leading the future of FS scenery design.
But I really do like the frames I get from UK2000 sceneries.
Maybe you guys should start designing sceneries.....
I wonder whether doing two sceneries at once (Leeds-Bradford and Luton) has proven to be a little too much for Gary?
Funny, this effort of a point normally comes from developers who can't accept reality.
I don't have to start fs business to successfully compare what's looking aged. And even you don't agree here, if i don't like something, i don't buy it, but the developer still gets the chance to know why i don't buy his product.
deal with it.:)
I'll take this over frame rate hogs any day. But he really does need better screen shots.
I don't think that those UK airports should be too expensive in production. Heathrow, Manchester or Gatwick should be top notch, though. Leeds in Flightbeam quality? How should that work? Are there enough customers from around the world for such regionalized airports.
I would say yes. UK2000 is among the oldest of developers. Gary has stayed in business all these years for a reason. I bought Heathrow Pro when it first came out and it was among the very best ever developed for FS at the time.
I think he's making a point about the economics about such a small field. It's got to be hard for a dev to take on advanced techniques that inevitably require some sort of commercial modeling/texturing upgrade. You then have to rationalize that with the decreasing user base of FSX - a sim from 2006.
Once this community picks the winner for FsNext you will likely see better quality from existing shops and quite a few new ones. It's about the economics.
AirDailyX should do a dedicated series on what it takes to build an airfield. A) people might have a greater appreciation for what they're buying and any new methods, and B) it could encourage others who don't speak the lingo to learn how to make a quality addon.
We are actually in talks about such a concept and possibly having a product developed ourselves. Very interesting concept.
