Captain Sim Announces L-1011 Tristar...

FSX. Ummm, ok, looks like Captain Sim has announced their own Lockheed L-1011 Tristar project......on the same day as Just Flight's L-1011 release. Well, they state "see the difference" on their website...so I guess go ahead and see the difference inside...

Interesting... the exterior looks first class but the internal systems could tell a different story. Their 777 had so many bugs in their system I hope this one will be better. If not......

As always the CS visual graphics look great. As a person who purchased the complete CS732 model with the three expansion packs, my thought is why start another project when you have missed the boat with all of the 737 bugs and Pathetic FDE. The only silver lining is the USER fixes for the 737. I hope anyone purchasing the L1011 does not get the same treatment.

Ahh.....So it was Captainsim who were baiting us here in the comments section. I was hoping for the 747 Classic but oh well.

Beautiful as always CS but consistent forum communication and poor flight models will likely keep me away from this one. Still waiting on a update on the 731/2/2ADV flight model(s).

Never again Never again CS>.>..... not even for 9.99 better money for homeless than CS... sorry

Here comes another paid beta......

No wonder they can't finish their 777. Too busy working on 76 other pointless addons.

Hmmmm. Interesting timing of this announcement - on the very day Justflight release their Tristar. I also seem to remember Captainsim announced their 737 at the time Justflight did their 737 and Milviz also announced theirs. Also see how Captainsim were sure to capitalise on the anticipation of the PMDG 777 by releasing their one beforehand.

With an increasingly large backlog of unfinished and buggy products and ever more dissatisfied customers, questionable timing of product announcements and releases designed to usurp other developers, it doesn't take a genius to work out CS are taking the community for fools.

I'll wait for the other, other L-1011 in progress...

Well there will be a choice in the future... But it's far better than JustFlight. Either way we will buy it for review!

I enjoy this blog but why help these swindlers by giving them advertisement? In my opinion they are the scum of the flight simulator community and don't deserve mention unless it's to talk about their poor quality yet high priced ad-dons. Give money to the homeless instead like someone else mentioned.

Holy cow. They've referenced the original 'mock up' L-1011 cockpit. This VC is currently missing VITAL parts that would be necessary to actually fly the aircraft. This is a big issue people should be aware of.

Here CS just killed the Just Flight sales! Visuals look much better, and I doubt the systems are any worse than JF. I'm only wondering how on earth both companies have decided to do the same plane (being over looked for years) at the same time?... Coincidence or bitter rivalry?

Not advertisement. But an honest review. If it sucks, we will politely say so.... We serve the people too ya know :)

+1 I would like to know what are the trends on the sim market, not just live in a PMDG bubble of happiness ;)

I keep reading comments that there will be another L-1011, assuming they mean besides the CaptSim and JF version. Anyone care to spill the beans on who else is working on one?

Anonymous said...

They weren't the only ones, there was a third, but I doubt they'll put anything public for a while seeing this development.

Anonymous said...

I doubt they'd go public with it any time soon seeing as there's just been 2 L-1011 announcements.

CS can keep their products - please finish the 737 before doing more. Sibwings too can take note - birddog still with bugs, no response on forum - and now they want to sell me an AN-2?
Yeah right.....

Captain Sim IS the developer of Just Flight's version. Their co-operation goes back to the Hercules C-130 for FS9, perhaps further.

Still waiting for my 60 dollar B777 to fly correctly...

What are you talking about?
This is not true, I don't know from where you got this information, but it is just completely wrong. Yeah, Just Flight sells the C-130, thats correct, but AFAIK, this was the only cooperation between them.

BUT the Captain Sim and the JF TriStar are different models, the same with the 737s. Watch the pictures carefully and you will notice, my friend ;)

I purchased a shit load from Captainsim, but I've come to the 1 and only conclusion. Yes the aircraft look good, but their very Framerate unfriendly. Yup they are and they can talk all the polygons they wish. I have spent enough money on this company I should own it soon, but also their way of 9.99 purchasing is for suckers... Finish at least 1 aircraft that will function with 100% accuracy or at least admit defeat and let some one capable to finish your aircraft with the auto pilot and FMC...

DAndre Newman said...

Exactly! I'm buying it for sure and we will find out! In my opinion though, it looks good and I am so desperate for a proper L-1011... And a DC-10 also. The CLS was crap.

We know who the 3rd developer is. When they are ready to announce, the info will be here on ADX as always :)

Excuse Me what about my 777, when are you going to fisnish this? Can you please put all effort towards the 777 , Am just saying and Please if you can Airbus A340, 330, , Tristar is out of service. Thank you.

Anonymous said...

Since you can't say who the 3rd developer is can you at least say if they are a higher end developer than CaptSim and JustFlight or about on the same level.

Anonymous said...

You and me both.
