Dubai? Is that you?

We just got a very interesting tip from a reader named Martin who has just tiped us off to some very interesting information on well... Dubai! There is not much if anything to say here other that we are checking with our back channel contacts to try to find out whats up. In the mean time here are a few screens and yes, that is the Airbus Extended. I think however, the texture baking looks familiar... if you know what I mean...

We are very interested!

Wow! After all these years of begging developers to remake Dubai for FSX, thing finally seem to be coming through!
This and the PMDG T7 with the NGX and I'm a happy man!

So Aerosoft DID make Dubai? I can't find any news on it anywhere?

Not sure about Aerosoft, looks more like our friends at FlyTampa. As D'Andre hinted, just filled in the blank space with my own guess after seeing these screenshots. I can be wrong...

Interesting... I thought Aerosoft said, that they had to much difficulty getting the required photo material to do it...

Very nice...

This has got to be one of the MOST DEMANDED FSX sceneries and long overdue!! Cannot wait!!!

I have a guess... Can't wait!!

From what FlyTampa published on their forums, they had apparently sold all rights to Aerosoft for Dubai and when Aerosoft tried pursuing the airport in the real world, access was denied for security reasons. Now, it seems like someone was working on the airport all this while. The name 'Martin' would suggest FlyTampa has apparently bought back the rights from Aerosoft of simply made their FS2004 scenery, FSX compatible.

According to FlyTampa and their forums, they had sold the rights to Dubai to Aerosoft. When Aerosoft tried to renovate the scenery for FSX, they were denied real world airport access for the material they needed. Aerosoft then left the project as it is and never did anything about it (reference through Aerosoft forums). Now, it seems like someone from FlyTampa (hint : Martin) was working on it all this while. I agree, this is one of the most important and famous hubs in the real world as well as the sim world! Can't wait to hear the OFFICIAL statement on this as I've been taking every little news with a grain of salt.

Martin is just a coincidence.... ;)

The scenery has Flytampa all over it.

The texture baking says it all!

You guys know these screenshots are from Jerdoo's airbus x video right?

I don't care about the middle east & very hope a quality development like Fly Tampa or aerosoft don't waste time on Dubai.

Fly Tampa did not sell dubai to aerosoft. Some guy called TimflightX did & he has nothing to do with ft. I think he cancelled his freeware dubai & sold it to aerosoft.

We can discuss this until we are dying.. but we will never know until it will be officialy announced ;) Just be patient.. i think that as videoproducers have got the scenery, the release will follow soon. Just a matter of time.

EvolutionSim Dubai was not freeware, He sold its Dubai to aerosoft for XPLANE development.

Anonymous said...

xplane? why? its so bad, fsx is better.

DAndre, can't wait to hear what you find out from your investigations... This is SCOOP OF THE DAY!!

What ever has been decided. Obviously, Dubai airport has becomen the Holy Graal of airports in FS9/FSX, considering the enormous amount of comments !
So there will be a DUBAI for FSX. It's so obvious !

Why does no one have information on Dubai scenery???? It is very frustrating. Can Dom find out who made it for us please?

Anonymous said...

Great! Then you can dive in your own sorrow, because we are getting one.. Big Mega Dubai international airport...

Anonymous said...

Dom can you please find out who is making this Dubai scenery? I can't find anything. Maybe you can ask around?

karank said...

Yep, eagerly waiting for a response from you to nudge us towards who is developing this! Check your sources Dom :P

We have had some information leaked to us in the past about this. Here is what we can say at this point. If we do know who the developer is (and I am not officially saying we do) we can't tell you anyway as it would be a violation of the developers wishes and we are very close with many developers and wish not to violate their trust. So all we can say at this point is: "Sit back, relax, and enjoy a future flight to Dubai!" What I can say is, when we can say something, you better damn bet we will!

karank said...

Agreed that naming the developer would be a break of trust but could you please guide us towards the status of the project ? Is it still active or was it thrown out halfway like FlyTampa, EvolutionSim, Aerosoft, etc ? Again, not asking for a release date or any of that mumbo-jumbo, just asking if the project is still being worked on or not.

DAndre Newman said...

I thought I did! :) Our understanding is sometime by Christmas but that is very unofficial so don't quote me on that.

karank said...

Many thanks! Look forward to hearing more about this project. Cheers

Too funny mate, too funny! I hope that they actually spend MORE time on the Middle East as there are many wonderful places to fly! FT Dubai Rebooted looks stellar - I hope that we eventually get Abu Dhabi, Amman, Doha, Jeddah and even Bahrain!
