FSX/P3D/P3Dv2. Stefan from PILOT'S has been kind enough to update me on FS Global VECTOR progress and has sent along two screenshots showing the vector data detail that we can expect for the Ganges Delta and Northern India.
The FS Global VECTOR is currently still scheduled to be released in the next week and the development team is wrapping up final testing. We expect to receive more info in the next few days leading up to Christmas. The amount of detail FS Global VECTOR adds for this region in terms of railroads, roads, and trails is on a very different scale when compared to the screenshots we posted last week of Northern Europe, since India is obviously much larger and the rail and road networks are generally less condensed in this part of the world.
Please note that FS Global VECTOR will be released in both download and boxed versions, with the download version being made available through Orbx's normal retail channels, and PILOT'S selling the boxed edition through their website.

What exactly is the difference between FS Global's VECTOR and ORBX's ?
Nothing, it's the same product. FS Global will it boxed, and ORBX will sell it as a download.
Hi Tom,
There is only one FS Global VECTOR version, Orbx will merely be selling it as a download and PILOT'S, the developer, will be selling it boxed.
Best regards,
Jerome
Thanks guys..
Do you happen to know if any of the publishers be selling a bundle pack of VECTOR and the Mesh ?
Hi Tom,
Highly likely, but I don't have any details at present.
Best regards,
Jerome
I'm curios if FS Global Vector has advantages over the good old UTX?!
Probably not, except that it'compatible with the FTX Gobal texture package. UTX is partly compatible due to it's own (vector) textures.
There are people who managed to manipulate UTX to use the FTX Global textures for the vector's. I believe on Avsim are posts about it in the FTX forum.
Wow! I'm most impressed if all that vector detail will be included by Pilots in countries like India. Look at how the vector detail indicates the population concentrations in Northern India, particularly along the Ganges and Indus River floodplains, all the way up to the foothills of the Himalayas. Even the mountain roads (barely) and trails to the Himalayan Hill Stations seem to be depicted. Incredible. Then there's all those tributaries from this behemoth of a mountain range flowing into the Ganges, Indus and Brahmaputra rivers. Very impressive again. Can't wait to see how this all looks in the sim. These regions will suddenly be a real experience to discover and fly in the sim. Hopefully, the rest of Asia, Africa and South America is just as well represented, really opening up the sim to actually enjoying these regions.
Jerome, was just wondering, if you were willing only, when you do get in touch with Stefan, could you possibly also ask him if the many loyal customers who purchased the original DVD release of FS Global 2010 would be able to download an update which added the missing northern Canada area from the original release and anything that would upgrade the product to the FTX compatible version please??? I think this is a question that has been asked in several places by many but there's been no clear answer anywhere on how such loyal customers can upgrade to the level of the FTX-compatible version which also includes Canada and perhaps some other differences. I do not personally think this would be an unreasonable request but if you do not feel you wish to ask it that is okay too. I do not wish to buy and install vector until I can get the underlying mesh up-to-date first if at all possible. It would be nice and also much appreciated by many current users of FS Global 2010 if Stefan could personally answer this if he does not wish to answer you, as I am sure he is well aware that many have asked and no answer has been provided clearly, s far as I can see.
Anyway, thanks for this great exclusive...its encouraging and gives a good indication of Indian road, vast railway network, coastlines, deltas and vectors. Well done indeed! Really useful and practical info as usual :-)
For starters, its Global and not restricted to certain regions only. Its also going to be a Live product, meaning it'll constantly be added to and updated with additional vector data and types Daniel.
All the best,
Sid
