OpenLC+Vector. Now we're cooking!

FSX/P3D. John Venema has released another update regarding FTXGlobal OpenLC and Vector. This is the product I am waiting for. The mountains, hills, and coastlines in FTXGlobal just doesn't cut it. Not by a long shot. With the addition of OpenLC and Vector, you will finally experience FTXGlobal the way it was meant to be. Also to provide the most simple mesh solution possible, PILOT'S will soon be releasing  a "FTX Edition" of FSGlobal 2010 via The FlightSim Store. Watch for this announcement on the PILOT'S website soon! Mesh Iceland Demo also included. Here is the latest!

you know what's funny ? I have purchased orbx global just to have the scenery look like the 2nd picture.
I have NEVER EVER managed to make fsx look like any of these screenshots. Someone should seriously SERIOUSLY inquire whether orbx are using photoshoped (fake) pictures to promote their products.

The promotional shots are not photoshopped..
What they did do is utilise settings in FSX fully tailored to show the product in the best way. Like extremely high LOD settings and Bloom. And of course they use REX or a similar product to take care of the enviromental colours...

Agreed. I do the same in my screens. I crack the settings to full blast for shots. But bring them back to normal for the testing.

Hi Josh,

I have taken a number of preview shots and the procedure is to take screenshots using the V key, resize them to our standard size, and put the frame (semi transparent black bar with Orbx logo) on top. The only other thing done is to take screenshots from pleasing angles, use ideal times of day, and pick a nice weather theme.

I hope this answers your question

So, are you really saying that you have not over-sharpened those images? You can easily see this from the over-saturated (white) pixels on the screen, c'mon.

Hi George,

The screenshots are probably making use of ENB or SweetFX. Both tools will brighten colours beyond the range predefined by FSX, in fact that's their purpose, to make the brights brighter and the darks darker! John posts his ENB settings publicly so they can be used for comparison.
