Whoop! Whoop! Pull up!

[RealWorld Aviation] We'll here is a bit of a striking vid for you lot. Supposedly it's been around for quite a while but I have only just seen it as an ATR dive bombs for the runway. Not too sure I would have wanted to be on-board. One thing is certain though, these young pilots seem to be enjoying themselves and I can't think of any possible scenario why anyone should be enjoying themselves in a situation like this training or otherwise.

It's been around a long time... posted on youtube in 2010...

It is definitely some sort of training scenario... It looks very much like a Khe Sanh (or renamed as the Sarajevo Approach) approach, which is used to counter small arms fire around an airport and minimize the chance of an aircraft being downed by antiaircraft fire on approach over hostile territory.

I have seen this type of landing at a number of airshows, normally performed by C-130s or C-17s and so on...

I like the "daka daka daka daka daka" strafing the ground noises one of the guys makes...

And the landing was firm, as the Khe Sanh always is, not hard...

Well there's two new PMDG 777 videos up. Takeoff and landing at KLAX with cockpit and exterior view. Check out that wingflex! :D

Most video's so far are IMHO not a good showcase of the product. I'm also not getting how PMDG selects the beta testers. You must be a horny avsim forum user that is on the forum commenting on how amazing the T7 is 24/7 365 in order to get selected. There are enough videomakers out there that can do a way better job then what I have seen so far and most important have NO lag in the video

Nothing to see here said...

I think it's a demo flight just to show off the undocumented "steep approach capability" of the ATR. They didn't trim the aircraft though during the video (no high-low aural tone) and thumped it during the flare.

Not exactly by the books but people occasionally do dumb things with aircraft. I remember the Danish Cimber Air CEO did a barrel roll in an ATR, and that Pinnacle CRJ crash due to pilots doing some "impromptu flight testing".
