Nice, but I have payed already and I didnt see the necessity to spend 10,51 € for an Upgrade.

Well there are 3 more highly detailed airports in this scenery so if that work is not worth your money, pure and simple dont buy it.

I'd appreciate more subtle runway/taxiway edge lights. Way too much halo!

Same in EPKK. Can't use PAPI lights as reference, even with bloom off.

As much as i like DD sceneries, lights don't get the attention they deserve in 2013.

Thats right, of course. But in the description above there is only one new airport (EPLB).

DCCLXXVII, I think you are talking about effects you have installed in your FSX. My lights looks fine in all airports and the same in DD airports (actually those might even be default AFCAD light effects)

I don't think anyone care about wheather you see the necessity or not. :)

Sorry, maybe missunderstoud : what I meant to say is, that the developers should be offer more to retrieve money again from existing customers beside to make some minor changes and call it a new Version. On the screenshots, it is really hard to find the enhancements to V2.

Nope! Pls, have an eye on productshots from simmarket. Maybe you like the halo , i personally prefer these for example:

Final decision is always with the buyer, but it is an upgrade not an update, and for €10,51 you get a new airport on top... In my book, it is a very good deal...

The shots on simmarket showing landing lights are with some sort of bloom enabled, hence the overly powerful halo... no bloom, no halo...

We are already working on the Firstlook. So if you guys can hold out till then...

Sebastian N said...

Andreas, what are you talking about? These are now different airports, so much have changed! They have upgraded the whole package in a way that it can be treated as a completely new product! And, as they state, it took them a year to do that. Would you do that for free? Why don't you?

Sebastian N said...

So disable the bloom in your FSX options, it is that simple.

As much as I appreciate and admire your firstlooks D'Andre, I do not really think that it would be necessary to hold out until then... DD's Polish airports are excellent work and good value for money I have always thought...

Only for those who seen to think this product is not worth the upgrade. I have see all of it in P3D and overall I am impressed. But I also found some areas needing improvement.

Thanks for the upcoming review. I'm on the fence with this as I have the previous version.

DAndre Newman said...

Trust me, you will be off the fence once I publish my article.

Please do me a favour and read my first post before responding.

I know they have bloom active in the ALSF shown pics.

But I don't like the runway edge and taxiway edge lights as written in my first post even without bloom.

These balloon lights look odd in fsx.

That's way i'm asking for more subtle ones:

We talk about FSX not FS2004 lights as we are used to see in old Mega-airport sceneries, so they may be designed like shown here:

http://www.aerosoft.de/shop-rd/bilder/screenshots/fsx/hesh-sharm-el-sheikh-x/HESH_FSX_13.jpg

I prefer flying nighttime and if developers want my money they should take care of the lights.

It is that simple! :)

Point taken... I wish designers wouldn't use bloom and ENB profiles and so on to market their work...

If it is that simple, then why don't you code your own lights? ;)
I certainly agree that the lighting of Skiathos is excellent. 29Palms did a great job there.

Sorry, but on the screenshots it doesnt look like complete new airports too me. The question is: why did they spend so much time to release a new scenery for the same airports, they have served already before in a very good (!) quality, while the customers are waiting (and willing) to pay for new products and aiports ?

DAndre Newman said...

Andreas,

We have already started the firstlook with more coming later today. Going forward, you can refer to and comment on those articles. I already posted Gdansk.

"then why don't you code your own lights? ;)"

If i had ever had started working on things i'm unsatisfied with, i would have not time left for flight-simulation.

So the idea is paying for things that are appealing and if they aren't, telling what's necessary to make them appeal.

A very normal process in markets, of course in flight-simulation still not very popular but time will fix this issue.;)
