FSX/P3D. Aside from my Twin Otter Extended that I can't keep my hands off of, Carenado also released the CT206H around the same time and I have really been enjoying this one as well. There were many questions from our readers as to weather the G1000 would be implemented and it seems it will. Let the attacks begin... Personally, the Carenado G1000 is good enough for me for an aircraft of this size... Don't care to spend half an hour programming it just to go a hundred miles...

Once again, if Carenado was forward-thinking and just made the panel compatible with the Mindstar G1000, just as they have done with the GNS 430/530 and RXP, it would interest me. I want my G1000 to be fully functional. So, if they did make the panel flexible their airplanes would appeal to many, many more customers.
I agree with that.
All the G1000 addons are crippled in FSX one way or another. At least the Carenado version has the TAWS terrain page which in the real world planes I rent for typical 1-2 hour flights in the mountains and desert of So.Cal., is one of the features I value most. If the frame rates are reasonable I'll probably pick it up, but I'm more interested in a steam 206 addon with floats, and a Tundra version with tires and wind screen cross braces. Also wish they would tone down the panel night illumination, and tone up the dome light illumination a smidge.
I think TAWS is a reasonable feature to desire. Interestingly it's not a feature included in the Mindstar G1000. Not because they can't do it, but rather their commercial customers haven't requested it. I asked them about it and they said they are constantly adding new things to the G1000, but TAWS is way down their list. One of the features high on the list, though, is the ability to add airways to the flightplan. That's what I want.
