Oh my God!! NY has NEVER looked better!

FS9/FSX/P3D. Jaw hits floor, drool everywhere, slipped in it, fell, bumped my head, passed out, woke up in drool, looked at NY shots again, drooled, slipped, hit floor, passed out, repeat. It can be difficult to tell just how a good 3DS or GMAX render look until they are actually implemented into the simulation platform. Now yes, it was quite obvious that the Drzewiecki Design Manhattan X scenery (the largest and most accurate city scenery ever taken on) would be amazing. But now, after actually seeing the models surfacing in the SIM, to say this looks amazing would be like saying the PMDG 777 looks sort of okay... major understatements...So with this said: jaw hits floor, slip in drool, pass out...

Release slated for August. This also includes La Guardia, JFK, Newark, and Teterboro airports in high quality.

They also they developed some kind of algorithm to speed up texturing etc. in their NYC thread. This could be game changer against other developers (specifically FT) but also re-write simulation experience.

''These new techniques is a major step for us and will certainly influence all future work. In simple words, realistic texturing will be easier and many things are now done automatically. For customers this means less bugs and better visuals. ''

Looks fantastic, but also repeating the main concern with present day FSX addons; what about impact on VAS? New York is already an area prone to OOM's and I fear this addon will only add to that...

I don't understand how it is done automatically? Anyone know how it is build & what souces he uses for the models?

Oh my god! I'm definitely buying this!

Well, every developer were/are aware of this limitation, so fingers crossed they developed also a new technique to cross that barrier. NYC has always been my city of dreams and hopes so I'm hoping for that break-through.

I wonder if the guys at ACES ever predicted how far would FS development go. It is such a great time for us with all these developers delivering and working on top notch stuff. I will buy this one for sure.

I just saw the release date & it says they only just started JFK. This might not be as good as it looks Their MIA package included KMIA & the city, it wasn't worth the money & had performance issues. Unless NASA engineers have invented some radical new techniques, this could be another poor product.

I admit it looks good in edited HDR shots 100s of meters from the models, but suspect up close its not going to cut it.

Agreed Ron....i also wonder what the city is too look like beyond the manhattan skyline beyond central park...it looks flat in the screenshot???? Reminds me of the loss in autogen between heathrow and london using VFR London

My guess is either they haven't the models ready to show us for that area yet or maybe it will be populated with generic low rise autogen models as there are no skyscraper buildings North of 59th st. But I imagine the entire island will be included as Jersey city and Brooklyn will be included...

Wow,

This is stunning...
I am outta words.
I will wait for the FPS impact report before buying. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I haven't seen the shots from the other airports (beside jfk) included but what i am seeing here is out of this world

This is why we have a search bar at the top of this page. Try it :)

Amazing isn't it Belisar?! Great things are happening!

Could they be using something like photogrammetry?

looks great!

If they are aware, they'd make all their sceneries dx10 compatible, because of higher usable VAS than dx9.

And there will be no technique to gain the limit of 4gb VAS in fsx. Your fingers crossed doesn't change anything.
