Drzewiecki Design New York City X - More!

FS9/FSX/P3D. Drzewiecki Design has posted some more renders from New York City X showcasing Freedom Tower. Looks fantastic, very much looking forward to this one. The city package is to be released separately from the airport package (seven airports). See inside for some more renders.

FSX is a fail platform. they should stop bothering develpoing addons for it.

either P3D v2.0 going to be the next thing, or it may as well be the end of civilian flight simulation.
and yes x-plane is not going no where in the visual aspect either. it's a POS and has been so since day one in terms of visuals.

Development for P3D is the same as for FSX. And this scenery is actually being developed also with P3D tools.

I dont get it... When you guys first Posted about this project earlier this year, it was tagged for FS9. Even less then a month go, there was another preview post, that was also tagged for FS9. What Happened?

+1

Saw some thread about realistic looking Seattle and streets, so that reminds me... I tried demo and I almost puked, awful. No city textures at all, roads, buildings and everything lies on the grass. And even that grass texture is ugly. Clouds, another fail. Sounds? 90% of sounds I heard are mono.

I don't have problems with FSX, no OOM errors, smooth flights, enjoying every second of it. And that last sentence is very popular with very big number of FSX users, who know how to properly optimise it, and NOT to use 737NGX over ORBX Seattle with extremely dense autogen, tons of AI planes... etc etc. First of all, think about what FSX controls and calculates in the background, you will be amazed - hundreds or thousands of AI planes, weather, autogen, airplane systems, lots of addons in the background, panels, gauges... :)

As a NYC native, I really appreciate the level of detail going into this project - it appears to be 100% authentic in its recreation. Keep the updates coming - I love watching the evolution of the greatest city on earth!!

Hey look at that we are in an alternate universe.

AFAIK There will be no night textures (perhaps except the major landmarks) so don't fly at night or you'll see a blacked-out Manhattan.

you got this information from where?

Read carefully at the writing. Drzewiecki is developing high-res models for landmarks WITH night lighting, and this gave me an impression that the rest of the "low-res" buildings will not have any night lighting.

IIRC their Miami X scenery never had any night lighting for any of their custom buildings and Dom's review of Warsaw X only mentioned "some" night textured buildings. This is not that big of an issue in cities with mostly low density buildings but it could be for somewhere as dense as NYC.

We can only hope LM pulls off something big with P3D V2, otherwise I agree that the FS community is going to hit the end of the road for a while.

So get a better computer! I mean if you take the Piper Cub instead of NGX your's computer will for sure manage it? if not it's time to upgrade:)

BTW so looking forward to this!
