FS9/FSX. Gary has announced last week that he has started production on remaking Heathrow completely from scratch in an effort to not only bring it to today's standards, but also to reflect the real world changes. So if you were expecting another simple update, forget it. Let's also keep in mind that Simwings has started their complete rework of the project from scratch as well. So we will have both. Which which will be better? First previews expected Q4 2013.
"Heathrow Xtreme V3 will be a total remake of the airport and as such will take a long time.
Heathrow is big, I mean really BIG!!, so dont expect any screen shots until early winter. Also Heathrow cant be made like my other airports, as you all know the area around London does have a big impact on FPS, I cant create every line and every object, any attempt do so will result in great looking but ultimately useless product. So I do have use my artistic licence and simplify some of the complex ground details and markings. It will still be stunning, but I cant achieve the parking stand accuracy that you can with smaller airports."

Alright alright.... I'm going to leave my first comment on UK2000. Why do they keep remaking their airports? What's their future plan for future airport developments... EGLL V26?
Please somebody say something!
Agreed, but even when Gary remakes his airports, UK2000 has lost a lot of the wow factor it used to have, IMO it's in the textures. If he is going to do remakes or updates, the texturing techniques need updating too.
Would have liked FT or FSDT doing this. Neither Simwings or UK2000 is up to 2013.... still stuck on 2005 era.
"Heathrow Xtreme V3 will be a total remake of the airport and as such will cost a lot of money again...."
Hopefully an upgrade fee for current users and not full price...
Glad to see he's trying to keep up-to-date with construction and progress at Heathrow.
This is a perfect example of how multiple developers focus on the same airports that have already been done ad nauseum while other airports in the world have never been attempted. Stop reinventing the wheel and build something new for a change! The whole community would benefit for a change in perspective.
I'm glad Gary is redoing Heathrow. It's one of the most important airports in the World and probably one of Gary's best selling sceneries, so I can understand why he wants to refresh it to 2013 standards. Good luck to him, I can't wait to see it.
I find his airports still look good, even in the face of the "big guns" like FlyTampa...
I only wish he refrained from using those low resolution 2D-like people on all his sceneries. They look crap and generally spoil the overall feeling. I would sooner have no people than those bitty ramp agents...

I think the modeling and detail are up there with the best of them, but even on his newest product, Luton, the building textures could perhaps use an HD option and some rendered shade bakes. Though, the single biggest thing that sticks out to me is the photoreal apron which in places is far too low in resolution.
Not trying to bash Gary's work, I've always enjoyed UK2000, but these are things I see room for improvement for to really bring his products up to Flightbeam, FSDT, or FlyTampa-level standards.
