So what does D'Andre think of this...his backyard on FTX?

American cities looks well with ftx. Problem is with european ones. Revealed screenns from Rome or Florence were terrible :)

We Want CARIBEAN (CURACAO, St.Maarten, Aruba, Bonaire)

We want the REAL Caribbean,
St. kitts, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Barbados

Not those weird Dutch islands.

Nice!!!!! Here's the real scary part for a known Developer.... Who will win NYC/Jersey...

I mean one has night lighting, traffic, and the other????

Interesting times ahead. Can't see persons buying a whole area just for the airports.

Looking at these a certain developer might consider two separate packages - complete (city and airports) and just Airports

I'm just saying

Weird Dutch islands...hahahaha....that made me laugh ;-)

I've got Los Angeles - X and I must say it looks better than what I see here, especially around USC, where I went to college :)

These two products are not comparable...

But its too early to tell I think. I have many many Orbx/Full Terrain products and can't say anything but positive things, so I'm not trying to be negative. I hope there is some sort of demo or something for this, because it is a product I will seriously consider, real seriously consider.

Sorry guys but this looks like crap.

And because LA looks like crap in real life that means they got it right. So thus it looks great so far... I see they got Century City. They also need to include the Pacific Corporate Towers in El Segundo where my office is. And perhaps the Aerospace buildings in El Segundo Reytheon, Boeing, Direct TV, etc.

LA is massive expance much bigger than Seattle so I really wonder how this will affect frames.

That US cities was pretty whack... Just my opinion.

It looks quite accurate.

I really want to see my part of town: Culver City/Marina Del Rey. There are towers in those areas too such ad the Howard Hughes area where Qantas offices are.

Are you forgetting that this is just a default texture replacement, and not a total LA makeover?

And what does "That US cities was pretty whack" mean? Is that good or bad? :)

I was wondering the same thing! Most of the US Cities stuff is really quite good. Have a look at some youtube videos showing it. Stunning!

It means I personally did not like US cities LA. And, based on these shots, I find this replacement be much better than default.

DAndre Newman said...

Dont need to. Installed and uninstalled. No night textures is pretty lazy... But their stuff is better than default too. See Andreas work on Vegas at FS developer. Much better than US cities Vegas. Some of his buildings are going into the NY project also.

Hi guys,

We don't add any custom city models to FTX Global since it's only ground textures and custom autogen and lighting. What you see in Iain's shots are the default models mixed with our autogen.

...autogen...that´s the prob...if it was scenery addon like "openvfr buildings", blocks of houses would not pop-up...at least for the big cities it would´ve been nice for that price tag
