Orbx FTX Global Combined With......

FSX/P3D. Orbx has released some spectacular screenshots showing the results of combining FTX Global with TRUElandscape France and Aerosoft's Nice Côte d`Azur Airport - just awesome! The products ability to play nice with other third party sceneries looks very promising...so far, I am impressed! The captures are from the Nice area, Marseille, and the French Alps. See inside...

I'm proud to say that I'm French, live in Paris, been to Nice and I can feel the realism! Well done ORBX!

Are you OOM? Or did you not read what this is? Do a little reading instead of making comments based on nothing.

GEX developers need to stop trolling this thread, we know who you are, grow up.

I would be very disappointed if FS11 only have that to offer.

P3D V2 is FS11. Just have to wait...

That overview shot of Nice airport and surroundings looks incredible, the rest of the shots are just stunning. And this is just the base version if I correctly understood. The premium or what they call it will contain many additional features such as custom OSM landclass and VFR objects. Paired with P3D 2.0 our hobby gets a plastical surgery.

It'd be nice to be able to separate the truelandscape and the aerosoft scenery from the orbx world product, because I can't tell what orbx world is adding itself versus the other addons.

I still have a feeling that it looks Australian... Europe is not so colorful especially from the air, which is not so clear as probably in Australia. In my opinion european texture colors should be reduced 20-25% to look more realistic. This is just my own feeling.

To the OOM poster:

If you get an OOM from a texture replacement that uses the same size textures as default FSX or GEX, then you have a serious issue with your set up.

Yes we are seriously getting tired of the GEX developers posting OOM crap. Get over yourselves and face competition like men. You had the whole FSX market to yourselves for six years with GEX and now a much superior product emerges from a trusted team and all you can do is FUD blogs and forums. Pathetic!

The textures are never going to be the issue if they do ineed remain the same size as FSX default. The autogen, if optimized, can even lead to a lower VAS footprint at equivalent settings. The nice thing about the idea of FTX Global is the replacement of textures worldwide in one single package.

OK, it may not come cheap, but nor does the competition when you add up all the individual packages for each separate area...
Competition is good for the market and good for the end user.
This product alone, as direct replacement for GEX, defualt, or whatever, is highly unlikely to cause OOMs on current systems. We are not talking about OrbX regions, which come a lot more featured...
