One More - Aerosoft Twin Otter

FSX/P3D. Hey, look at the that, the seat belt and smoking signs actually work! Lots of detail going into the Aerosoft Twin Otter X Extended project, no question about it. This looks great and all...but what about wing flex? Yes, I'm kidding of course. See the full size version inside.

Interior shot with working seat belt and smoking signs:

Looks good, but can't see the wings from the window. What is this, a wingless and wingflex-less twotter?

From some weeks to now, I am just listening about wing flex (an article in Airdaily about wing flex is urgently needed). It's the issue of the moment, no doubt.

The plane looks really good, hope it would fly as it looks... sure it will.

The twin otter wings flex to such a limited amount I don't even believe it to be noticeable to those of us spotting them. Also, given the angle of the shot posted, you wouldn't see the wings anyway, what's the problem? Looks great.

If the wings don't flex I'm not buying it or flying on it.

I recommend you install the wing flex kit, but expect to pay more for it than the Cessna 152 kit. it's waaay more money.

The wing flex comment is not serious - just seems to be a controversial topic these days.

Some folks need to get a bloody grip. Determining whether one will fly an aircraft based on the fact that the wings flex or not is so asinine.

Who gives a flying fig newton whether the wings on the Twotter flex or not. The years that I flew the Otter the likelihood of me looking out of my window to see the wings flex was next to impossible.

Enjoy the product for what it is worth, the performance revealed from the flight dynamics and additional features that will have an impact on the aircraft performance.

OK no wing flex, but does it at least have OOM capability?

If neither of the two then what can we complain about?

I wouldn't but this if it DID have wing flex! ... no visible wing flex from a wing as short as that it in a Twotter....

The length of the wing has nothing to do with the flex. Look at pictures of gliders.

And so another thread goes south on the subject of flex... perhaps the guys should rename their blog FSWingFleX instead of airdailyx...
Stiffness of materials used, wing boy construction, as well as span and loading all have an effect on the extent a wing bends up or down... of course the span of the wing has something to do with it, though it is not alone...

Oh, back on topic...

Thanks for putting up the previews as ever.. getting less bothered these days to forge through the drivel that is on many fora trying to find the important news...

Great job you guys do!

LOL FSWingFleX! Love it! Yes it would be more correct to say wingspan is just one of many factors affecting flex. There are planes with short wingspans that have incredible wing flex.

I meant to say wing boX construction, not boy... typo...

Which short wingspan aircraft are you talking about that display noticable flex?

Though You cannot see it on the screenshots, wings and engines (as well as flap/aileron movement) is visiable throught the passenger windows.

But just like the real aircraft - no visible wingflexing. Short wing thick profile and most, if not all fuel in the fuselage rather than the wings.
