Norilsk! Damn it's cold!

FSX. Now if you are anything like me, you just loved Yekatarinburg! In fact I loved it so much I reviewed it last year (read it here) Well if I understand correctly, the same developer has been very quietly working on another far off cold and remote airport. This place is known for being closed most of the year due to the extremely harsh weather conditions and poor viability. Norilsk is in final stages and is expected for release via Aerosoft by the end of the month. Thanks Mikhail!

I can't argue, it looks awesome, but who are really flying over there in FSX? I think Moscow or St. Petersburg would have been more popular in the FSX community.

You took the words straight out of my mouth...
Pulkovo, Domodedovo, even Sheremetyevo... they are what many would like...

This looks good but is simply too far off the beaten track, so is never going to be on my list...

If these developers want to make money they must start first with the international gateway airports like Moscow or St Petersburg before moving to the regional airports. If it's too hard then make a lower quality one.

Yes, absolutely! Airports with 3D models and a photoscenery is far, far much better than the default MS crap installed from the beginning

WOW, this is gonna be a HIT like Yekatarinburg! :) it's good sometimes to "think out of the box" - Norilsk will be interesting for those who don't know the history of the city, this part of Russia, the small airlines that is flying there etc, etc..and BTW : 2 good freeware FS9 scenery's exists for this airport, and a "port over" to FSX too...and they are good quality freeware...

But this scenery is done from scratch, and with 2013 technic - and that makes it already much better than the former freeware scenery's, just look at the printscreens from the AVSIM.SU forum topic...amazing textures...and yes it feels VERY COLD and we will get a scenery with the airport as it is here in 2013 - great! ;-)

a little bit off topic, but a guy from my school years from 1976-86 (we went in parallel class) also likes the cold in Russia/Canada etc...some people do things against the mainstream of thinking...LOL...check out his little website here : http://gernerthomsen.dk/index.php?&lang=en

2005 Docu - Norilsk airport :

Looking forward to see the Norilsk scenery, hopefully with some of the surrounding factories, the area is very polluted.

There're new 2013 FSX freeware scenery's for UUWW & UUEE - they are very good - go to AVISM.SU - UUDD is in the making ;-)

+ for those who like the Yekaterinburg X scenery, this freeware add on is a must have...this is one part of four that will be made...there's a smaller airport near by called Uktus airport (USSK)...it will be made as one of the next parts, so Yekaterinburg X can be compleat with realistic suroundings ;-)

Personally I really like these remote places up in the North, no matter if it's in Canada, Alaska, Iceland, Norway, Finland or Russia. I've logged most of my virtual flight time in these areas both in FS2004 and FSX. (unfortunately there are still much more northern sceneries for FS2004 than for FSX)
So from my side Norilsk will be a must have.

Bravo! Amazing shots and a perfect, quite exotic selection. Very interesting airport though.

Tamas you're welcome - and yes it's a pleasure to see Gerner's pics, and okey he has also won a lot of prices, and they're well deserved ;-)
