Opus +1
(simulates clear air Turbulence as well.)
ASky-2012 DWC is more than fine (it was even before SP2).
I lost my precious time with REX (before I found ASky-2012) due to abruptly changing winds between weather stations, shredding my aircraft to pieces due to overspeed stress.
I'm not going to loose my precious time with Opus - for the same reason.
And not for this new one either.
IMHO, we do not need yet another weather engine.
Abrupt weather changes with REX. Sounds like you did not upgrade to Essential Plus.(Using Beta 2). All my abrupt weather changes have ceased. To each his own I guess. As for not needing another weather Engine, that's not for anyone to decide except the devolpers. More the merrier. IMHO
My Opus looks better then those screenshots.
This doesn't look like anything special.
The problem with DWC is that it uses global mode. FS Global Real Weather uses station mode but has a wind smoothing algorithm that prevents sudden wind shifts between weather stations which never let me alone in a few hundred hours of flying!
Have you tried the evaluation version? The question is not always what's "looking better" but what's more realistic :).
Opus +2
Agreed! OPUS + 1
Agreed OPUS + 1 also

Haven't looked back since I started using it.
Absolutely. The REXE and AS2012 are retired on my PC ever since.
O P U S - once you get it you don't need anything else. simple.
With Opus I had big fat cumulus clouds hanging over Oslo in total winter conditions. This is not possible in reality, sorry guys...
To Mr. Marvic Johnson.
I am a REX-2 customer since the very first version. I upgraded to every version they made, but only using the textures and did not bother to check the new weather engine.
The first REX-2 had an abysmal weather engine, regarding this. And so the next (second) version.
Sorry, but my time is precious, and I cannot spend it any more for the developers of REX, that cannot deliver what they promise.
Developing a quality / bug-free product, that delivers what promises, they cannot.
But in marketing, and splashy meaningless names (essential, essentials, essentials plus, overdrive) they are the best.
Well, so be it. They will not get my money again.
But the excellent developers of ActiveSky will.
As for Opus:
One of my rules in life is the following:
"The greater the hype the worse something is. Avoid products with hype".
