OFFTOPIC: Guys, does it happen to me only?!? Previously when I was clicking on any of the images, there was a strip of images down the screen with the selected one wide open in a semi-transparent foreground. A click on the image would take me to the next image. Now when I do the same, an image opens up wide screen and sometimes full zoomed in and I'm not able to move along the strip anymore... No more foreground screen, nothing... Just an image, wide open and making me go back if I want to take a look at another one! Can you do smth with that? I'm using Chrome 25.0.1364.172 (as I did before anyway).

Yes, I've noticed that change as well, not completely sure why. We will try to get to the bottom of it.

Looks like they want to compete with, or capatlize on, Orbx airfields. Totally fine venture, but the bar is set pretty high in the VFR Pacific Northwest space. As Orbx keeps getting bigger, wonder if they will begin to gobble up smaller dev shops instead of having any sign of competition? Know many startups whose measure of success was being bought out by a larger shop... Wouldn't want to speculate that the thought may be behind the product here..... just say'in

Nice ground imagery, must have cost a bit

Anonymous said...

Yes it would have cost a bit as thats not the free USGS stuff, I do hope its properly licensed, so tired of developers not licensing imagery or thinking they can get away with it

Competing with Orbx was never our objective, our objective is simply to populate this neglected area of the world with detailed bush strips situated close to each other. Actually the Orbx sceneries serve as an inspiration more than anything else.

I am going through liscencing procedures at this very moment with DigitalGlobe, the company that the imagery is from. All should be sorted by the end of next week. I would never release this without liscencing the imagery first.

It's happening with all blogspot blogs.

My hat, is off.... Looks Top Notch....

You got me as a purchaser for certain, I have no issue with paying some bucks for scenery like this.

Thank you very much, iot is appreciated :)

My apologies for the speculation. Look forward to seeing the scenery when you are finished.

I wish Misha well but it seems foolish to not publish this through Orbx because the volume simply won't be there for him. It is also not very wise to be showing shot using unlicensed imagery before any agreement is reached

It's volume vs the cut a distributor would make. I'm sure Misha has looked at all the options and I wish him well.

How could Misha be gauging the interest in this scenery without showing us screenshots? Without any decent interest it would be pointless to even sell this and thus pointless to venture into a licensing agreement.

Think before you type next time ;-)

Oh I see .. It's perfectly fine to download unlicensed imagery, use it to promote your product and then "gauge" interest before spending money on licensing it? I think it is you who needs to think before typing buddy.

The amount of FS addons using stolen imagery is rampant these days.

Why must there be so much speculation over the imagery, can everyone please just relax about that. It is going to be fully liscenced well before release and that is that. Why is it a problem to gauge interest as long as everything is legal? It's not as if i'm gonna release it anyway if we don't reach an agreement. I'm gonna play fair with this.

And one more thing, for me it is a hobby, not for the money. I am definately going to do everything properly, but I do not understand why people cannot just enjoy the shots before release, instead of picking on if the imagery is liscenced or not. It's not going through release with any stolen content in it, so please everyone, just relax.

Misha please ignore the trolls here, they have no clue how software development works and are even more clueless about the way geodata is sold and handled. Please keep up the amazing work and don't let yourself get discouraged by a few brainless idiots :-)

Make sure you get that imagery properly licensed as the (active) development community takes a very dim view of this sort of thing

Anonymous said...

So 'Dude' its OK to just pirate imagery yeah?

Anonymous said...

Someone has a beef against the project... clearly! If you think it is going to be released without licensing, then you need to provide evidence of your claims. If you cannot, dont bother wasting your time in opposition to it.

This scenery is looking fantastic! Forget all the negativity posted here from others. It looks like it will be a winner regardless.
