About damn time!

FSX/P3D. Well, well, well... CLS has been quite quiet these days. After the release of their MD-80 they just seemed to go dormant. Yes, granted they were working on their BAE project but they seem to have treated it like their red-headed step child by the way they seemed to disown it by releasing it solely under the JustFlight brand. We'll no matter now, finally some shots of the 747 V1.5 that has been in development for what seems like forever now... Check it out!

What's going on with all the rivets on it anyway? I've never seen an aircraft with so many rivets before. As a former 747-200F FE, I am certain they've got it wrong- and from purely an engineer's perspective, it can't be very practical to maintain an air-frame with that many rivets, let alone the extra weight and. I mean I appreciate their efforts but just googling "747-200 nose" shows a thousand pictures that make it clear that many rivets is just silly.

Disappointing...But not much else you can expect from CLS.

Which part is disappointing? The rivets? Is that what we've broken things down to now is the number of rivets represented?

The whole damn plane! They've got some major model inaccuracies that stand out and they can't even get something as simple as the 'Lufthansa' title correct! The rivets are a topper though, not the number of rivets, but how they are formed. They don't follow the real life patterns (ie, instead of perfectly straight and unrealistic rows, how about contouring them to the shape of the aircraft skeleton as they are in real life) and it's something I look as a distraction and deters from the whole look of the plane. Just because you can slap a bunch of rivets on a texture doesn't make it realistic, especially in the current market place where excellent visuals are a must to be taken seriously (and rightly so). And, it is CLS after all so don't expect systems to be anything special at all.

So yes, terribly disappointing from every known aspect, as are the rest of their products.

Just hope they finally move on to the DC10 update they promised back in 2010

I just find it interesting that some speak of disappointment about a product from a company that they claim has a history of disappointing products. Surely if they have not released products in the past to your liking you can't be disappointed by an update of an existing product that you were already "disappointed" with. Further to that, the primary discussion revolves around the number of and placement of rivets. Surely there is a more compelling argument than that that could be discussed.

At any rate, I'll still be looking forward to whatever the update brings.

Pass, not for me, CLS always release shoddy products, reminds me of 'AUCUBUS' or whatever they are called...

The rivets are wrong, just plain wrong, they have just applied the same 'rivet' texture all over, no 747 I have worked on has ever looked like that

As it's not yet released, let's assume the rivets will be corrected and attached to the frames and stringers only. I must admit I hadn't noticed them until it was pointed out..
I remember seeing a preview of the A2A P-51 mustang and being disapointed (as were many) at seeing huge rivets over the body, and yet look at the finished product - superb!
Give it a chance, the 747-200 is one of my favourite aircraft - I'd like this to work, but if it doesn't, I don't have to pay for it! :)
