Market zoom : Year 2012 final

[|FS Market]. Scenery production in 2012, for FS9 and FSX. The number of new sceneries is booming.

- Activity was specially weak in last September;
- As expected, strong activity during the last quarter, due to holidays and Xmas.

16,2 % of new sceneries on the market are for FS9 only.

36,6 % are for both platforms.

56,16 % are exclusively for FSX.

From 28 sceneries launched for FSX in 2011, the volumes hiked to 65.

In the meantime, sceneries specifically developed for FS9 are decreasing, from 14 in 2011 to 11 in 2012. But the fact that more sceneries are launched for both platforms, FS9 and FSX, shows how resilient is the older FS platform.... until now.  With new aircrafts exclusively developed for FSX (PMDG NGX, Aerosoft Airbus eXtended, Coolsky DC9 Classic, Captain sim B-777), we continue to expect (unfortunately) that more simmers will shift to FSX/P3D or X-Plane.

!  As usual, this study checks new sceneries/airports launchs from Simmarket, FSdreamteam and Orbx. It is only about payware (value > 15 Euros).  Updates, boxes, bundles and meshs are not taken into account.
