FSX. Okay so here are some screens you were asking for. You guys are really making me pull out FSX lately and frankly I am feeling very uncomfortable about all this. Anyway, here are some very quick shots so you won't be lazy and go get it for FREE! Its not bad at all.
Here again is the download link: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=171588
Please don't make me keep this FSX stuff up... LOL
Cheers!

Just a little technical comment... FSX gave users a possibility to use library objects very, let’s say, actively. It is a nice feature to add some to the almost finished scenery but I personally don't think this is a good scenery designing. Of course there are plenty of projects like that, even payware ( http://secure.simmarket.com/vfr-short-fields-x.mhtml ) which use almost only ready-to-place objects and certainly these sceneries are better than default. But the only thing that makes them look closer to the reality is the location of buildings! The objects are default though. All static planes on the screenshots above, the hangars, all smaller objects, the lamps, cars, people, tables etc... It seems that only those few red houses are custom made. I don't think this type of scenery is worth mentioning as something extra-ordinary, however it is better than the default indeed. So what do we have here:
1. Ground textures (depending on the technology used, the complexity of alpha channel and the overall size) it is not a large work. Here I would say it could have taken 1-2 hours to complete.
2. AFCAD - that is a 20min work in a small airport
3. Library objects - no more than 40min work, just simple placing on the correct position
4. Custom buildings (?) - those seen on screenshots could be done in 3-4 hours, simple models. Maybe it took more time to get to the airport to make a photo shooting, I don’t know that.
5. Autogen - if using automation this is a 10min work. If not, maybe another 1 hour since the area is small.
Would that be all? In my opinion you can make such airport every day, if you work the whole day of course (7-8 hours of work). It does not mean I don't like this scenery but being freeware is simply not enough for me since there are really great and complex freeware add-ons available.
All text above is just a kind suggestion to Dom and D'Andre of what to look at when reviewing some sceneries, especially those more simple, which look good under the extremely good FSX settings. BTW if there were no library hangars used I would not bother myself in writing all this stuff at all :) . Please keep your great work with the blog!
