TTG Toncontin. The first shot!

FS9/FSX. Now it should be clear that I am a quickly becoming a big fan of LatinVFR. With that said, I am also becoming a big fan of Taxi2Gate. There are several older TTG scenery that need an overhaul on FPS and not to mention need AES. But overall, their work is very good and getting better.
This time they have started work on Tegucigalpa’s infamous Toncontin airport. This is an airport I became very excited about about years ago after watching this video and many others like it. When LatinVFR released this scenery, I was very excited. But after watching The History Channel's Most Extreme Airports, and listening to what pilots use as visual aids on the approach I quickly became disappointed with the scenery. LVFR did do a good job with the scenery but so much was left out.
There were too many missing landmarks pilots look for doing the visual approach. The airport itself looked great but the surrounding area was something very much to be desired.

This time I am hoping TTG will get this part right. What I can say, what is shown so far looks damn good and accurate. What has stolen my eyes at first glance were the plants and shrubs. And if any of you have read any of my impressions (hundreds of you have) then you know about my feelings regarding plants and shrubs and crap like that. What I see here is just awesome!!

We are very much looking forward to this release with anticipation that the surrounding areas below the approach pattern to be present and placed correctly. Like the swimming pool for example!!! And perhaps some moving cars on the highway the aircraft follow in. And good photo scenery with autogen and...

I'll stop there. Were looking forward to comparing the two products!!

Cheers!

I think I will wait for latin's version they seem to be improving also with every release... plus they have the old difficult approach, taxi to gate seems to have updated to the recent state of MHTG with the longer runway and such.... I am a fan of flytampa's kay tak and the fun is keeping it as it was before not fixing it to current 'safer' standards.. that's the joy of mhtg.
