This is just too funny to me...

FS9/FSX. It really seems lately that payware quality sceneries are being released for free whereas more and more freeware quality airports are being released as payware.

So if you are dying to get your hands on Nairobi HJKJ, there is an exciting new freeware looking payware version just released on Simmarket.

Oh, did I say exciting? I meant.. well never mind.

Look, I am always glad to see new developers enter the market the more the merrier, but when the end product has an FS98 era quality level, perhaps it really should be freeware...

I'll pass on this one. But you can go buy yours today!!!

And Enjoy!!

I agree....not my cup of tea

that's rude, you don't know how much time and effort these guys put into this work. And if they need it to feed their families/etc. it may not be FSDT quality but at least respect it.

wow, would like to see your sceneries mr writer !?!

Could you explain why you feel the quality of this scenery is not to your liking ? From what I see it looks allright. Having been in NBO airport many times I can see a lot of effort was put in to give a good presentation of the actual airport.

Well, we can all have our own opinion. I know OrientalSim and Nairobi for FSX is a very nice one with high quality terminal and buildings.
I don't know the new FS 2004 version though.

FS98 era? Come on,Dom!
you should explain then the difference between your(too much maybe) positive article on the Nairobi FSX version and this note about the FS9 version.
The fs2004 scenery has no difference except less vegetation and ground vehicles...and several months of work were needed for its adaptation, since various elements(like taxiways or runway's lights) required different methods.
To be honest, I did'nt plan to develop an FS9 version. I received 16 requests by e-mails for it!
Orientalsim doesn't provide must have sceneries and doesn't pretend to! When a top developer will take Africa in account, I will be the first to buy its sceneries. Until there, we do with what we have...no need to recall here that finding good quality photos material is much more easier in Europe or in the US than in Africa. I agree with you on one point:there are more and more mid quality sceneries sold at Simmarket but never forget that there are simmers buying them because that is all they can expect today.

F.K
Orientalsim

Fred,
I am sorry but i didn't have the opportunity to buy the FS9 version of Nairobi (already bought FSX one). I only tried to give good arguments about Orientalsim overall quality.
Maybe my partner did not buy the FS9 version of Nairobi. If so, its a mistake.
We want to pay and try ourself products to give a true opinion while others are "sold" to their clients.
Nairobi FSX is a great airport. And FS9 probably is. Hope we will see Carthage soon on a good webshop...

Hi Dom,

i would have sent you a free copy if you had asked for it but you're right to preserve your independance. It's a key point of your blog.
ORBX, Flytampa and others increase the quality level every year and it's hard to follow, for freeware as payware, making us sick and hopeful at the same time.
I will mail you tomorow evening about Carthage.

Fk.
