Newcastle : hot test

FS9 and FSX. UK 2000 has just finished the fifth airport update this year. The team is hard on the heels of Fly Tampa and FSDT.

Installation : quite complex for the beginner. Download via UK 2000 server. Accound needed.
File : 95 mb.
Framerate : Normal. (tested without 4000 static cars option) on quadcore 2,33 Ghz, 8ram, AI HD 5850, triple screen and iFLY FSX. : fps > 12 on FSX.
The bad :

* The scenery could have included surroundings fields.
* It's almost too perfect. A few buildings and ground textures could have been more dirty and old.
* Too much airport staff (yellow guys). Is it possible to use high definition texture now ?

The good :

* Level of quality. Impressive textures, high quality of static objects.
* All the options included : AFD file, thousand of cars, service fleet, variety of static aircrafts...
* More and more textured shadows on static objects, buildings and even trees.
* When it's about release dates, Gary Summons is always reliable. A rare quality in FS market...

Bridge + custom road traffic + moving train.

Trees have textured shadows.

High quality of ground textures AND static aircrafts...

Uk 2000 Xtreme airports are always top-notch. Night appearance of Manchester for instance is brilliant. Blue edge lights, centerline lights and runway lights are far more realistic than what the competitors on the market offer. Unfortunately real Gatwick has almost no blue edge lights. So you won't find it on the simulator either. What a pity.

No blue lights made you not purchase Gatwick? Wow. Maybe Gatwick HAS no edge lights.
