May 2010/2011 : Market zoom

Despite expectations, May has been pretty calm, compared with May 2010. See yourself../.

Eight sceneries only were launched last month, compared with 18 in april. There are several explanations to that :
* The strength of the european currency (around 1,40 $) might have delayed some projects.
* Aerosoft, the first sceneries provider, seemed to have delayed some plans. Almost nothing was released in april-may but a lot of projects will be ready from this summer : Zurich, Stavanger, Keflavik, Corfu, Anchorage, Vilnius, Antartica X etc.
In the meantime, it will be interesting to watch if new sceneries projects are to be launched once this tank is empty. We don't have any news on US CITIES and the only projects unveiled, so far, are Lyon airport, Copenhagen, Malaga and Dubai airport, which is undoubtly Fly Tampa's airport.

May 2011 ; 3 for FS9, 3 for FSX and 2 for both formats. Score = 8 sceneries.
May 2010 ; 0 for FS9, 4 for FSX and 7 for both formats. Score = 11 sceneries.

This study checks new launchs from may 1st to 31th 2011, in Simmarket, FSdreamteam and Orbx. It is only about payware (more than 15 $), no updates, no bundles, no boxes, no meshs.

About aircrafts now. Besides iFly FSX release and maybe a Carenado, very few new aircrafts/choppers have been launched in May. The Airbus evolution, the WT-9 Lionheart and the Aerosoft Katana were marketed in april. There is another problem with aircrafts study. More of them are released on designers own websites and some of them don't even publish a date of release...
