I don't see how this is "brillant". The shot is far too small and shows no detail. It's like taking ten steps back. A month ago, they gave us a proper preview, then nothing, then this shot. Completely pointless!
I like the shot. Shows the full cockpit and looks great! Looking forward to the release
The overall project is looking brilliant, not necessarily this specific shot.
Personally I just think this is a "Hello, we are THE addon makers!" from PMDG since Majestic gets a lot of positive feedback and it is said that they are at the level of PMDG (if not a bit over them). So far only a pointless "news".
I agree, while I look forward to the 777, it would seem like PMDG is a little frightened about no longer being the only 'super-developer.' They've got Majestic to contend with alongside a few other promising projects coming up with the FSL A320 and Enigma 737 Classic. I don't think they need to worry, as there is plenty of market to go around (not everyone wants to fly only 747s, MD-11s, 777s, and 737NGs after all), but they do need to adapt and realize there is other talent out there, not just themselves.
Nothing interesting really. This is not their moment, and they should stop trying to be in the center of attention for a moment. I will buy this when it comes out, but this is getting annoying.
That said, the textures seem to need more work. It looks a little bit cartoonish.
I don´t really think that PMDG has to be frightend. I just bought the Majestic Dash 8 but i DONT like it, so i got a refund. I really think that i´m the only one who don´t like the Majestic Dash 8. But i have my own reasons. The Airplane itself is brilliant, but i´m a Boeing pilot, and the systems of a Dash are way different.
I´m just waiting for the PMDG 777, now!

well i guess it´s not that close they are curently working on getting there sites up to maximum until may so after that it might be bigger chances
I think I'll go for the Captainsim as PMDG won't have an electronic flightbag. Looks more accurate in terms of texture coloring though.
It's not really a preview, more like a teaser.
AFAIK The EFB in Captainsim is just a glorified PDF viewer anyway. I'm a long-term customer of both CS and PMDG and I must say PMDG is worlds ahead of CS in terms of quality, complexity and polish.
I haven't tried the CS 777 though, I always avoid CS products with complex autopilot/FMC programming because their old 757 for FS9 was an absolute, complete mess. Also CS may look good in the eye candy department but recent PMDG products like the NGX looks just as good as any CS product.
I don't think their biggest problem is the competition, instead it is their own inability to release an addon (which satisfies their high standards) every year. IMO it's very important for cashflow reasons to have at least one new product every year.
The DC-6 was meant to be released in 2012 as a 'filler' product before the 777, but it got severely delayed. With that they lost 2012 as a growth year and now they have products bunched up in the pipeline, and the market may not be able to absorb 2-3 PMDG products in a 12 month period. (PMDG products are very pricey)

well i i got the Captainsim 777 but i dont recomend it, it´s to slow whit the graffic to load as well as other anoyeing suff wait for pmdg is worth it... insted of disserpointing moments..

There was a shot originally of the aircraft at the gate. now it is rolling down the taxiway...
Perhaps it is the beginning of the build up to release who knows!
They did the NGX in a similar fashion if I remember correctly.

Well I've got the majestic q400 now....don't care when the 777 will be released, as it's very similar to the NGX in flight ops. Will wait for the 747v2.
A 777 is a completely different beast. A 737 NG does not even have an EICAS. A 76 yes but not a 737.
