Is it P3D compatible?

Circuit breaker simulation?!? I haven't been paying enough attention to this.

I will wait for training version!

"The release date is now fixed. The MJC8 Q400 addon will be released on Saturday, 20th of April 2013."

YES YES YES!

Please reread this page very carefully!!

This has been a a very long waiting, there are big expectations on this plane.

The comparation with the Xplane Q400 will be inevitable. I am interested above all in flight dynamics because the flyjsim seemed to me too much sensible to controls, I will like to see how the Majestic one flies.

Excellent news! I'm going PRO!

Guys, remember, the PRO version is only going to come out months from now. I will be buying the PILOT version and upgrading to PRO when it is released.

I am not going to be buying anything until I have a steadfast guarantee that the PRO version isn't going to cost me more than the €25 difference that it currently is listed as being. I also hate simmarket as a shop, as I feel they doubly charge VAT. Nearly everything listed there is more expensive than other online shops...

very disappointing features list of the pilot'd edition.

this is not what we've been waiting for :(

Thats an absolute lie !

Have a look at the checkout page. Some shops list the VAT inclusive price and then take it off if you're outside the VAT area. Other shops take the VAT off if you specify another currency, usually the US dollar. Also take into account currency conversion factors.

Of course it always pays to shop around, because what you said is sort of true based on my own experience with the purchasing the JRollon CRJ for X-plane. I shopped around and it turned out that the Aerosoft shop was the cheapest once converted to USD.

The pilot version doesn't even have a FMS. Been waiting so long but now very dis-appointed.

They certainly add VAT to products I can purchase as download products from the developers, check out the Milviz products for one. The F86 is USD34.99, which works out as EUR26.85 at the current exchange rate. Simmarket is no doubt forced to add the VAT on that, charging EUR32.12 currently. Even with the 1-2% international CC fee, it works out much cheaper to buy direct from the developer. I have seen this phenomenon with a number of addons... They appear to take the dollar price, convert to EUR at some updated rates, and then add VAT. It pays to check out the prices before purchasing.

I would say most of us are probably waiting for the PRO edition.

Not sure you have it right. Look at the product page again. Looks like a pretty detailed FMS to me.

I mean, how many are really going to spend €150 on this for those specialist items? The TRAINING version is for those with dedicated fixed base equipment...

Anonymous said...

Yeah, just saw the page again. It is included. But whats the point for including the 2d panel in the PRO version and not the PILOT version?

No offense at all but i think the plane is a bit over-priced. PMDG's aircraft are magnificent and do not cost this much and they are Heavy COmmercial Jets, not Propellers.

U need to READ correctly dude. The FMS is there for sure.

Anonymous said...

Then don't buy it. Easy as 1-2-3.

If you are subscribed to JustFlights e-mail announcements they have the training version listed for 59.99 Euros!!

Hello AirDailyX-Team.

Are you also going to buy this product and make a "First Look", like the BBS A330?

That would be very cool. But I have to wait longer for the PRO-Edition.

This one is priced similarly and is as complex as any recent PMDG release. The fact it is a prop does not mean it is any less complex to fly. Try talking to type-rated crews...
Not including the 2D panels in the entry level version is unfair though. It is assuming that 2D panels are only used by those wishing to use failure modes and so on. Not that I use 2D panels at all myself, I still find this unfair.
The top level version is aimed very specifically at crew training facilities and will likely require additional hardware. I just wish they were going to release the PILOT and PRO versions simultaneously or offer a plausible upgrade programme. I see no reason to buy the PILOT version as a stopgap to getting the PRO, if I am going to be forced to pay the full price for the PRO, or anything more than the difference between the two packages for that matter...

"sensible" or sensitive?

Just Flight offers Reward Points on purchases which can then be applied to future purchases as a discount.

I just read this comment from Martyn@Just Flight, which was posted in a thread on the Q400 over at avsim:

"We are pleased to confirm that owners who have purchased the Majestic Dash 8 Q-400 for FSX from Just Flight will be able to upgrade through Just Flight to the next editions when they are available, with the upgrade cost simply being the price difference between the current owned version and the next version with no additional cost.

Thanks

Martyn (Just Flight)"

That is a good sign...

Hopefully Simmarket allows a similar upgrade process that JF is offering.

And to the whiners who are complaining that the BASIC version of the product will only include BASIC features...GET A CLUE! We've known all along that there would be 3 versions. Where did you get it in your heads that the BASIC (Pilot) version would come loaded with all of the bells and whistles? Majestic certainly never said that as far as I'm aware. So get off it and live with it! If you aren't interested in the Pilot version, DON'T BUY IT! SIMPLE!

Me on the other hand, doesn't hurt to buy the Pilot version to fly it in the meantime until the Pro version is released.

Martin said...

Absolutely agree. As a matter of fact I'm ready to pay straight away for the PRO versioin. For the simple reason I believe MS PRO will happen, as opposed to the "Beta" programs of some other developers.

Absolutely, that is the plan!

Looks like the upgrade offer will be at simmarket as well:
