Captain Sim L-1011 "Exterior" Model Released

FSX. Captain Sim has released the exterior model only for their Lockheed L-1011-1 aircraft. To be perfectly honest, I find this type of release quite strange. People purchase advanced aircraft based on the product being a complete usable package. Releasing only the exterior model doesn't seem to provide much value until other package components are released.  Nevertheless, exterior model customers will  receive a discount on the final base package upon release, more pics inside.

I have to admit it is a pretty model. I'm considering getting it and trying to do a VC merge with the Just Flight and then use the HJG 1011-1 FDE. I just really don't want to give them anymore money after they ripped me off on the T7...

I hate it when they release unfinished projects! Just develop EVERYTHING, FIX BUGS and SELL IT. It is very anoying that they are giving us 1000005934057348957 updates for just one single f*** plane! It happend to me with the T7... and now - if I will buy it- it will happen again with the Tri-Star!

C'mon CS! You can do better with this! Model looks great, but the way you develop... nah!

I think you cannot use another VC with this exterior model. VC is part of the whole model. 2D you could use. Nice model indeed like most often from CS, even the VC will be eye-candy, but not sure about the systems and the previous products if they continue to support them.

If both the CS and JF L1011s are FSX native, the VC and exterior models should be separate. You will need to integrate the CS animation gauge into the JF panel in order for the model to show the landing gear. The only potential issue will be if JF put anything in their gauges that prevent the use of a different exterior model.

They should fix their T7 first.

This sounds like CS jumping ship due to the face of JF TriStar...... Sell Sell Sell!

There's a guy on the Avsim forums that said a CS/JF merge can be done.

That's definitely the way to go, although I would like to know more about the mysterious 3rd L-1011 project (which AirdailyX seemed to know about) before committing further funds.

From the way I look at it I see the Tristar costing about EUR45/US$60 (JF+CS) and requires a bit of manual editing.

SEEMINGLY this trend continues to bring CS dividends. I mean multiples of people must be buying to support this type of perpetual behavior
