Alternate Planets in FSX?

FSX. This is an interesting concept, alternate planets in FSX...?? Rhumbaflappy over at FSdeveloper is attempting just that. I am not technically inclined enough to understand the process however it appears to be theoretically possible... If you get bored, don't change your scenery, change your planet! What do you think of this potential idea for FSX?

It's got potential, no doubt about that. On the other hand, FSX and the flying we perform in it, is all based on simulating the real thing in almost every aspect. I don't find that aspect in this project reflecting it on FSX. The idea though is an excellent base for developing a new flightsim platform representing the world we live in, like a FS11 (FlightSimEleven).

In short: Potention yes... but related to FSX no.

Happy Eastern :)

Interesting idea, make some procedually generated cities with it and you have an alien world to fly in.

I think its a very interesting idea too but considering the millions of airports in need in the current world, id be pissed if FlyTampa started making Sedonia international airport on Mars insted of Tokyo Haneda....

The ability to explore Mars, with its unique gravity and thinner atmosphere, along with a full terrain model has been available in X-Plane for years. Yet, no one talks about it or seems to use it much. It's just a "cool" feature and that is about it, never really amounting to much with simmers. I don't see the FSX idea going anywhere either.

It really hits the line where simulation meets video game...

I would love to be able to fly around a terraformed Mars and Venus.
