FSX/P3D. True to his word, John Venema has just posted a capture depicting the improved ground textures at Cardiff International Airport (EGFF) - now with ground polygons! Looks great to me and good on Orbx for listening to its customers. I've included a before and after comparison for everyone's convenience, check it out...
This airport is to be included free with FTX EU Wales...due by the end of February or very early March. Now, the comparison:

Beautiful! I freaking LOVE Orbx!
Sweet!
Lets just hope its not too heavy on the frames. But, yeah, does look nice.
much better, thx!
looks like ill be taking out my credit card
Now I'll admit this version does appear to be better than UK2000's. Amazing the difference a proper ground poly can make!
What if somebody wants FTX Wales, but with UK2000's EGFF airport?
Wowsers! Count me in for this one. I still can't believe they are giving away a free international airport with a region. Thanks Orbx!
I really hope we'll get ground polygons for FTX Melbourne and Brisbane sometime.
My worry would be that ground polygons would push those sceneries over the edge performance wise for many users.
If it's done properly, it shouldn't be much of an impact.
Brisbane has a ground poly (an excellent one by Russ White actually) and has done since day one. Not sure why you have the impression it does not have one?

One of the best ground polys ever made, about the equivalent of 5cm/pixel and with incredible detail. Orbx knows how to do the best GPs in the business, so not sure where some the comments this past week have come from. Ignorance or jealousy perhaps?
Well said, totally agree, some of the comments are over the top, especially for a freeware airport, it seems some people just walk around making things up to suit their own agenda, if I was Orbx I would never make another freeware again, or perhaps as you say... its jealousy, in which case that would be extremely childish
