QW Avro update and our thoughts...

FS9. Cory the head of QualityWings has just given another update regarding the current status of their highly anticipated BAE Avro project. For some reason the term "filibustering" came to mind but I decided to push that thought away. The explanation though appreciated, doesn't really seem to explain what is really going on over there based on the fact they are still unsure when they can release.

Based on his statement I assume there are no further issues with the aircraft itself and the problems are solely with new addons to the QWPAS system and recent infastructure changes. If this is really the case, then I would think a projected release date should be possible. But again, they are seemingly unsure when this will be...

Update on the Ultimate 146 release:
We see most of you are regularly checking the site and forums for news. We very much tried to release her this past weekend but unfortunately it looks like you (and we ourselves!) will have to remain patient for a little longer. If you are looking for a date, or exactly what 'a little longer' is - that's difficult to do. Again, we all felt very strongly that today was going to be the day. Originally we were targeting Mothers Day but opted against it because we felt your attention should be on your Moms lol.LOL

The delays have mainly involved the infastructure changes (Website, forum, etc) that we have made as we prepare ourselves for the release of the 146 product. There are things that we (QualityWings) have needed to do on our end and it's just taken a little bit longer than we anticipated. It's not just having a product ready to roll, but we need to be ready to support it. It is imperative that the customer experience for those new to QualityWings and our Legacy Customers is as smooth as possible.

Well, that has been resolved but in the time that we've been using to fix the infastructure, a few bugs materialized that we just couldn't turn a blind eye to. Most involve a last minute feature we put it in which allows you folks to automatically install QWPAS Saftey Demos. We typically like to freeze the feature list, but this one was too good to leave out since so many of you asked for an easier installation of QWPAS.
Last minute bugs is the nature of what we're doing folks and the fact that our personal lives (yes, we do have jobs and lives outside of QualityWings) only allow for limited work during the typical work week, sometimes it's challenging.

We want to see this plane released as badly as you do...actually, check that: We want this plane release WORSE than you do!!! Some of us have been working on it for 3+ years. But she will not be released until she is as good as possible, for your sake and for ours! Because some of you folks are the nicest people in the world until you click buy and then something major doesn't work right Wink

--------

Nevertheless, we are very hopeful for a release soon. Whatever of whenever soon means....

We wish the team all the best during these final stages.

It's seems an unfortunate, and all-too-common thing within the FS development community. iFly has, for well over a year now, been saying 'any day now', 'we're working on it', 'when it's ready', etc, to their service pack.

You have to realize that 90% of the developers in this FS business, do this as a hobby. It is not their main job, just something that they like to do in their spare time.
For example: Amir, the guy behind FlightBeam, works in the game development industry as his main job. He uses his knowledge and skills to make some of the best scenery's we know.
I think it is their right to take all the time that they need to deliver quality. :)
