Thorsten Loth of SimWings has stated on his site his disapproval of the upcoming MS Flight market system, lack of open SDK, and possible royalty fees in order to sell 3rd party products.
It is very understandable that it may be difficult for developers to see good profits when royalty licenses must be purchased to sell products in a closed marketplace.../..
Indeed some developers generally use a distributor/publisher (i.e. Simmarket, Aerosoft, etc.) and the distributor/publisher gets a cut of the sale. But at least current distributors/publishers operate in an open marketplace suitable to multiple platforms.

As Master Jedi Yoda would likely say about Flight: "Clouded… the future is…"
Thorsten is clear. Flight will not be supported by SimWings products. On a very good note, Thorsten has stated that FSX and FS9 developments will continue for the foreseeable future. Thorsten is also considering P3D, X-Plane, and AeroflyFS as possible new platforms for scenery development.
So what's currently in the pipes from SimWings? The Canary Islands! I myself am a huge fan of SimWings and the hard works of Manfred and Thorsten. Keep up the good work guys!
