Venerable Skymaster...

FSX. Just released, designed by Carenado, this is probably the first FSX native Skymaster for FSX. An aircraft full of advantages, launched in 1961 and manufactured under many variants ; unretractable, pressurized, turbo-charged, etc... And most of all, its push-pull technology inherited from german Dornier.

The Skymaster 337H chosen by Carenado is not a turbo-charged version. The 337 H was a new variant from the the 337 G, and is pressurized.
For a pilot, even in a virtual world, this twin-engine really provides new sensations. The aircraft can perform short take-off, can land on low velocity and short distances. It's a tricky aircraft that needs careful attention before take-off. (Some pilots have had accidents by attempting to take-off on the nose engine alone).
This version includes modern instruments like the Garmin GPS GNS530. In term of development/programming, this aircraft has three new features : 3D gauges, Fresnel shader maps allowing instruments reflections and a new night light technology but don't ask to Carenado what this...
There are 5 liveries (3 classics, 2 real and one blank, that is supposed to be used as a paintkit...
There is one model with one pilot and another one with pilot/co-pilot.

The bad :

* Once again, i would have liked  more original liveries. If you take a look at internet, you will find hundred of amazing liveries. Too bad. At least, the Westpac livery is gorgeous.
* Five manuals included but not a single one to explain in detail what is this variant.

* Until further notice, the product is to buy on Carenado website and frankly, i don't like one more bank i didn't hear about. PayPal would have been a minimum.

* No rain effect on windshield.

The good :

* This is an amazing aircraft. You will enjoy toying with the twin-engine system and the fuel selector valves.

* Short take-off and landing. I tried these performances in some Orbx airfields and the aircraft  is really powerfull.

* The VC night lights are working perfectly, including at dawnh/dusk.

The Cessna Skymaster has been used on almost all terrains and situations :
Military operations : recon missions, tactical operations, psychological war...
Civilian : tactical aircraft for fire operations, rescue, observation etc. etc.

Many details inside the nose gear compartment.

The push-pull configuration. Rear engine is pushing, forward engine is pulling (tractor).

New lighting reflections feature on the main panel.

Good imitation of polyurethan skin...

Two working sunshields.

Military livery.
