New previews from Microsoft...

FLIGHT. Airdailyx update 07:45 UTC. No denial from Microsoft but the development team is already announcing new screenshots coming next month. Wait and see...  Interesting explanations here on the new weather engine.

I thought this thing was on "hold" They have a funny definition of hold..

Brian it was a bad rumor someone was spreading I had in fact emailed microsoft and posted a link to a thread in avsim about flight being on hold or canceled.

I'm sure other simmers emailed microsoft studios about it, and the ms flight team posted info in the same day to show they are still working on flight so they are watching.

ahhh... well I'm glad, I was kinda bummed that it was "on hold" I'm glad they are taking steps forward. From these updates it def. looks like a big improvement.

Have you guys noticed it always Hawaïï & always little prop planes. I think thats all it is. No Jets, No helicopters, no AI, no advanced stuff.

Just Hawaïï & a bunch of moron missions.
Sure it has subtle improvments but something isn't right. I don't think this is going to be a replacement for FSX or FS9.

I'm not worried at all to be honest there just focusing on one place for now, for example when fsx screenshot's were released it was mostly of Saint Maarten and even the demo was at Saint Maarten tncm so that was the showcase scenery for them.

Its just impossible to put that much detail to the the whole planet. so some area's wont have that much details as others I think it will be a replacement for fsx and fs9 at least that what I believe hopefully will know more next year.

Very plain and simple. A new flightsim from MS needs DIRECT X11 and 64bit exe. Otherwise we would continously have problems with OOMs resulting in CTDs when the sim gets more complex than FSX. Even with a 64 bit Windows 7 FSX as a 32 bit application can't use more than 4GB of the RAM(no matter if you have maybe 12 GB installed). If you use a high end video card with 2 to 3GB Fsx has to "shareits 4GB with the huge amount of space the video card addresses", leaving only maybe 1GB left for FSX. A complex scenery in combination with a plane like the PMDG 737 NGX with high graphic settings within the sim and the technical boundaries of a 32 bit application overloads FSX easily and will crash the sim and you can do absolutely nothing about it. No tweak can solve this memory shortage.
