Liverpool : our final test

FS9 and FSX. Liverpool John Lennon was one of Europe's fastest growing airports, from 1997 to 2007. To absorb the enormous traffic increase (690,000 pax to 5,5 million in a decade), the airport endured drastic reconstruction ; a new modern teminal, runway and taxiways reconstruction etc.. I think it was in 2003-2004, i downloaded a freeware version of EGGP but it was simplistic and small. Now we get a great Intl. airport with several parkings, cargos and choppers activities. And cherry on the cake.../.
../..the promising work of Kevin Firth, who started to design the airport surroundings with due respect of Gary Summons work : equal quality, same colors, same overall look. It's going to be my favorite destination in UK for one other reason ; harsh and testing weather (my new Wilco A330 weather radar literally panicked yesterday on approach !).

Here is a plan explaining UK2000's part and Kevin Firth's part and extension projects ;

Now the UK_2000 scenery :

The scenery is almost perfect, is up-to-date and support all Xtrem features ; very high ground textures, 3D lights (very effective at night and under bad weather), taxiways wig-wag etc.
I only encountered two minor problems ; the first with a static black aircraft and i didn't see the wet runway effect. Maybe a problem of settings.
The airport is pretty smooth even if you install Kevin Firth's work. Gary Summons "garantees" a minimum 8 fps under FSX but that's with all addons include and max autogen. I got a 10-11 fps with the Quality Wings and my "old" quadcore 2,33 Ghz. Once on the taxiway, the fps rise and my landing was perfectly smooth under heavy weather.
There are also interesting customized road traffic, in front of the entry, around the Hampton hotel, and in the airport, we can see some service trucks patrolling around the runway. You even see cars making a reverse to parking, at the favorite spotting place where people came in to watch the A-380 training a miss-landing ! I think it was two years ago.
