US Cities Cleveland : so what ?

Cleveland is the 7th city published by LimeSim and Aerosoft in the US Cities Serie range. This choice is interesting as the town is not too far from Buffalo (Fly Tampa KBUF) and Detroit (SunSkyJet is working on KDTW). Technically, this kind of product has been developed for VFR flight. That's why there are no night lights effects on buildings (Las Vegas will be an exception). Of course, from 5000 feets, the city is really breathless but eventually, US Cities is really suffering of its compromised.

First, there are a lot of custom road traffic but the mix of textured cars and animated ones is really disastrous on my point of view, even if this have been settled to preserve the framerate. Second, from a chopper, most of buildings facades are blurried as usual. Third, the framerate will drop fast as soon as you are approaching the center town. The choice of Cleveland was interesting, thanks to its Lakefront airfield but nothing has been seriously done there in order to create a thrilling place to land. The main hangar with its blue-green roof has not been replaced by a custom designed one. The Lakefront main  terminal has not been designed neither and i would have appreciated more trees and static objects around. I think its time to imagine a new generation of US Cities. Maybe something less ambitious but at least most accurate...

Textured cars and animated ones. Curious effect.

A basic blurry US Cities-type hangar...

This screenshot maybe shows the real amont of work
in US Cities : juxtaposed roads and motoways.

The city at night : no lights effects but here, fortunately,
Ultimate Terrain do the trick, more or less.

A screen from Google Earth. Very alike buildings
but why these ones are more colorful ?
