Stanislaw Drzewiecki took some of his time at the worst moment to answer to our interview. No need to insist on how grateful i am.
Airdailyx : Stanislaw, your team is now working on 3,4 and even 5 different projects at a time (Polish airports vol2 FSX, Cracovia, Bornholm etc..). How do you organize your production accordingly?
D.D. : In fact, we are a group of designers working on various projects in the same time. Although we have never met each other we behave like friends and always try to help other members of our group. We are all enthusiasts so we try to develop best quality products. Reason ? We want to get a lot of satisfaction from it. Drzewiecki Design is growing step by step and we have recently started to expanse outside Poland.
Airdailyx : How do you analyse the flight sim market evolution ? Is it still important to make FS 2004 scenes ?
I was a home cockpit builder myself (my YouTube channel DrzewieckiDesign shows a lot of my cockpit videos) and I must say, that using FS2004 was more convinient if you had more software and hardware running in the same time. I was more into the navigation, printed charts and FMC flying than VFR so for me this was a perfect solution. FSX is used more often for VFR flying and eye-candy features and I must admit that our sellings are less for FSX than for FS2004, which is currently a 7-year old software. This should give a tip for designers of the future Microsoft Flight.
Airdailyx ; In a few words, what is your team history and your related activities ?
Drzewiecki Design develops high quality flight simulator software since 2003. Currently we have concentrated on scenery design, but we welcome all FS software designers all over the world who are interested in publishing their software commercially. We are also running a virtual airline on Vatsim and we organise virtual events like yearly Virtual Air Picnic in Góraszka.
Airdailyx ; Is there any other interesting FS developer teams in Poland ?
There are a lot of great people interested in FS software design here in Poland, but as a matter of fact, most of them work in Drzewiecki Design already. There is also a group of home cockpit builders, who are absolutely exceptional guys and spend all their time and money in making their cockpits more and more realistic. Usually these are people who were unable to fly in the real world but never gave up and try to make their dream come true in a different way.
Best regards Stanislaw.
