Corsica vol. 2 : Let's fly there !

French and even some european VFR pilots awaited this product for a year, after the volume one. Here it is, Corsica II and now, the possibility to fly across Corsica island. And at 50 cm/pixel, the landscape changes totally.

Corsica vol. II represents the south part of french corsican island from the middle to the south, with the cap of Bonifacio and the small islands of Lavezzi. Why a 50 cm/pixel resolution ? Is it just a whim ? Despite my fears, despite the heavy download of 8 gb of datas, this totally worth the shot. At 50 cm/pixel, you can make out furrows on a montain, grass, snow. At 1 meter and more, these details are usually mixed up.
Corsica is also including a specific autogen of typical corsican houses, a 5 m interpolared mesh and hundreds of local landmarks and objects (boats, lighthouses and eye-candies) for VFR flights.
Another good point is the intensive use of custom roads traffic and efficient night textures. Last but not least, the airport of Ajaccio (i didn't check Figari yet), is pretty well rendered. There is a custom tower, custom (but simple) buildings, static aircrafts and all taxiways and parkings are realistic and stick to the official charts. The scenery is smooth and there are a few blurried textures times to times, especially if you insist on external views.

Installation
After Corsica vol.I and its 12 files of 600 mb each, France Touristique changed for a better solution : Two heavy files of 3,5 and 4,5 Gb. This time, i found the download time and operations much simpler. The only thing that can surprise people here is the use of the software Z-zip to uncompress files. But everything worked like a charm.

Ajaccio airport. Really nice ground textures.

A vertical view to show the high precision of textures.
