SkyHighSim Tivat X Progress!

FSX.CFG Tweak Review: HIGHMEMFIX

FSX. There are very few fsx.cfg tweaks that I actually recommend. The reason for this is simple; most effective tweaks have a downside that often counteracts any positive benefits. In my last article, I talked about Bufferpools and my experiences with this tweak. If you read the article, you will remember my final consensus was to forget the Bufferpool tweak as the good did not outweigh the bad. This time around, let’s take a look at Highmemfix, a tweak that I highly suggest for all users.

Just Flight Releases Bear J-15 Naval Flanker

FTX Global - New 3D Lighting System!

FSX/P3D. Orbx has implemented a new 3D lighting system for FTX Global. So what's the big deal...well, the new lighting system causes absolutely no impact on FPS! This advancement should significantly improve user performance, especially in dense urban areas! Hopefully this technology can be implemented into older Orbx releases as well. More information and some screenshots inside.

New Partnership, New Boeing 717...Sort of

FS9/FSX/P3D. FS Design Group and TFDi Design have officially established a mutual partnership. In doing so, the developers have further announced their first "joint" project....the Boeing 717! Although I believe this project was previously announced solely by TFDi Design this new partnership should significantly accelerate progress. What do you think about this announcement? I just hope this development does not interfere with FS Design Group's promising Sukhoi Superjet project. Enlargeable development shot inside.

JustFlight Eurofighter Preview!

FSX/P3D. In my opinion, it is one of the very best looking jet fighters ever made. We have had many renditions of this aircraft in FS from different developers in the past plus there are also a lot of cool combat simulators featuring the aircraft. This time though, it's from JustFlight.

AREA51 & AREA FS9

FS9. I was honestly starting to think AREA51 has dropped the FS9 platform given the fact that all their recent addons were for FSX. We'll I supposed that's just how things appeared. Today we get a look at the very dangerous B-2 in FS9. If you see one coming toward you, it better be a baseball or football game or you're screwed.

Aerosoft F-14 Dogfight Video + TacPack!

FSX/P3D. Aerosoft has officially announced that they are working on TacPack" integration for their upcoming F-14 Tomcat X! This integration will allow users to actually fire weaponry and destroy other aircraft! The developer has further released a new preview video illustrating dogfight capabilities using TacPac” - specifically, a dogfight between a Mig-28 and the F-14 using TacPack” guns. Flight Test - Alabeo Gee Bee Model Z

FSX. So this evening I wasn't planning on doing a flight test, review, recap, impression, or whatever you want to call it. But it struck me; it's rare that I buy a new aircraft that really enhances my flight simulation experience. However, the Alabeo Gee Bee Model Z has done just that. Considering this is a rare occurrence, I thought I'd write a brief recap of my flight this evening for those of you interested in the aircraft.

FS9/FSX/P3D. "Multi Crew Experience" by FS++ Simulations has added support for the Quality Wings  BAe146 Avro. Next up, support for the Coolsky DC-9. For those of you not familiar with the "Multi Crew Experience" add-on, the software provides a virtual co-pilot to help fly heavy jets using voice input. Read more.

The fact that there is no new major platform on the horizon may also mean people are settling in with FS9/FSX/P3D and thus spending more. So.....I Found Australia......

FSX. So, after many years of flight simulation, I finally found Australia... Well, not so much found Australia but finally decided to venture south of the equator - Orbx Cairns to be specific. Took the challenging Alabeo Gee Bee out for some test flying this morning, something a little bit different for me. MegaSceneryEarth 2.0 Milestone!

FSX. With the release of Mississippi State MegaSceneryEarth 2.0 has reached a major milestone, completion of all states east of the Mississippi river! Although photoscenery is not everyone's cup of tea there is still a significant user base and this type of scenery can look very good, at least from altitude...what do you think? The latest from New York!

FS9/FSX/P3D. Without a doubt this is a project I am extremely excited about. It is a huge undertaking and will come well equipped with many features. Drzewiecki Design is making themselves very clear: they are ready to join the ranks among the elite FS development teams. Making a go for a project of this size, scale, and location is a mega statement indeed. This time around, we get to see very early development shots of Teterboro and the Downtown Manhattan Heliport: a place I love to do helicopter spotting. Montréal–Trudeau. Our impression!

FS9/FSX/P3D. Damn what a wait! I can finally say that Canada is getting the well deserved attention it has desired for so long. We all whined, complained, and begged for Canadian sceneries. It is very clear now: 2013 is Canada's year. With the release of Vancouver, Montreal, and soon Toronto, and possibly a 3rd Canadian airport from FT, we are going to be extremely busy in this country. Today, we are going to get a very in-depth look at Montréal–Trudeau and pay our respects to the men that brought it to us in the usual stunning trademark FlyTampa detail we all have come to rely on. We have all waited so patiently, the wait is finally OVER! Bandwith Warning! I'll cover FS9 and P3D, Dom will cover FSX. Many high-res screens inside. Yo, let's go to Trudeau!!
