About AES bottleneck (part 2)

Here are multiple comments about my AES post. I tend to agree. Aerosoft should support the product with one or more developers.

I like AES, but I don't think developers should think that having it is the only way that a scenery should work good. Take a look at Orbx, they don't need AES and they do an amazing job (peopleflow). Now FSDT is understanding that AES isn't something that only Aerosoft can do and they are doing their GSX. I really hope all developers find their own ways of enhancing scenery like AES and not depend entirely on other software from another company.

The only bottle necks are Oliver Pabst him self and technical things with certain scenery's. Oliver Pabst develops AES as a hobby besides his normal job. He is also working on AES NG (new functions, new looks). Recent updates took longer because of that. It's a popular addon, that's why I don't understand Aerosoft...they could a few more developers. If Oliver continues his work on AES NG, somebody else could make the updates. Another reason for delays with AES for certain scenery is of technical nature. FlightBeam KSFO for example.
There were problems with the AES integration so Amir had to remake and adjust a lot. AES is now planned for his KSFO v2.0 upgrade. Certain other scenery’s are also not suitable for AES, Cloud9 KLAX and ENBR for example. It often happens that Oliver needs action to be taken by the developer and if that doesn’t go fast enough, the airport scenery in question might not make the release of the update and has to wait for the next. I personally only use See more... scenery with AES support. I hold of buying an unsupported addon. AES is important for me; I only fly to designations with addon scenery and AES. I really hope AES NG will be out soon and will continue to support the airports that are supported now…

I doubt that maybe GSX is able to properly push the aircraft on the taxiway. Pushback is very important for me.

There are already alternatives to AES. Dirk Stuck has some great airport vehicles and there is a wonderful little pushback addon called Groundhandling (available on AVSIM). It doesn't have the weird looking crewman (which is good!) nor the support vehicles (which you can't see from the cockpit anyway), but its free!! And Alfafly might not be the highest quality addons but their airports have young, female batsmen to help you park at the gate!
