We are anxiously waiting for this weekend when the Shuttle Endeavor will finally grace the streets of Los Angeles! I'll yet again be out with the Nikkon to get some close up shots for you all! Did you know they are going to use a Toyota pickup truck to pull it on part of the journey? Will be fun! Fairbanks on approach!

FS9. FSX version released. Rainer Duda, the man I aspire to when it comes to amazing screenshots has just hinted us on the upcoming release of Fairbanks from Simwings. I have been waiting for this little gem and I can't wait to break out the Carenado's!

Aerosoft Olbia Released!

FSX. Now we can finally return to the island of Olbia. This is the first rendition of the airport in almost 10 years. Go get it!

FS9 (and FSX later). Drzewiecki Team has almost finished to cover Warsaw airfields/airports.

Kathmandu coming to FSX.

FSX. FS9 released. Thai Creations has finally set out to render their Kathmandu scenery for FSX. Already I see a major improvement with the ground texture. I have been enjoying sorties back and forth between Kathmandu and Lukla. Lots of fun. And I typically safely land at Lukla 8 out of 10 times! HAHA! But really folks, crashing in this region is no laughing matter.

Captain Sim's Triple Seven SP 0,9

FSX. Captain sim has updated it's B-777 to SP 0,9. According to the list of fixes, this is a major update with several improvements on aircraft navigational systems. The VNAV is improved too.

Remember AirPacific?

Now we don't normally post on real world news here as we are pure flight simulation. But now that AirPacific is distancing itself from Qantas and are giving back the aircraft. What do you think of the new airline and livery of Fiji? It's very different!

But, if I did buy one, there is nothing better than showing up to the local BMW/Mini dealer in my own personal helicopter. Well soon, we all will!

FS Break 117 avail

This is something i use to do more and more to improve my english. D'Andre would tell you how pityful is my e..ee..en..glish when we talk (BTW, seen how this can be an easy insult on Avsim :)),  Anyway, i started with my FSbreak lessons. And since it's a podcast, i can hear it anytime, even between La Defense and Charles de Gaulle french subway. This time, FSbreak is all about the different flight sim platforms, pros and cons.

Mega Helsinki: Our own screenshots

 

FSX/P3D. After some adjustments (deactivation of baggage carts, cars and landside view), my Mega Helsinki works fine, including with the NGX. A remarkable work from A-Flight. Quality of textures and the size of this airport!

Yellowstone never looked better!

FSX/P3D. Tim Harris has just got us more shots of Orbx Yellowstone and it is a very beautifully and amazing work! Hard to believe this is from the simulator! Just look at these amazing shots.

Mega airport Helsinki....

FSX/P3D. We just bought our own copy of Mega Helsinki. First tests on FSX. On the ultra light airplane and then on the PMDG NGX. Too soon to tell ? We already have Out of Memory messages (OOM) with this boring sound alert. The scenery itself is amazing. But from Aerosoft support forum, and testimonies, an update is obviously needed.

It is indeed nice!

Now officially AirDailyX does not cover X-Plane. The FS9 customer base is still a great deal larger and thus far, our readers have not expressed interest in the XPL platform. However, today I am making an exception for our good friends over at TropicalSim who are now launching products for the platform and the quality is outstanding! Our developers support us, we love em', and we always want to support them too! These are ADX exclusive and the product release is expected this week! So if there are any X-Plane heads in our crowd you have a new toy coming!

FS9/FSX/P3D. As what we are considering to be one of the most detailed looking city sceneries to date, D.Design shows more of Warsaw. It looks amazing! I'm sure you'll agree!

FSX. We don't have a lot of opportunities to show new projects about Mexico. Hermosillo airport has been resumed after computer problems. But "Waldos" has posted his work on the Mexican bay of Puerto de Cruz. A photoreal scenery of 100 MB.

Orbx Siletz Bay : Our own screenshots

FSX/P3D. Bill Womack latest work is a small airfield (S45) along the Pacific coast. Not as large as LongView ranch (and i suspect Bill is already working on another project too). But Siletz Bay is quite interesting as its connecting other secluded airfields : Stark Twin oaks and Creswell. Hot test in a few days.

More Montreal baby!

FS9/FSX/P3D. ADX always breaks the news first! George has just posted more shots on Montreal and they look absoulely great! Now that the P3D issues are behind him, the project is progressing very well! We are impressed... as always. Great work George! Oh I forgot: "Reflective puddles!!!"

Customer Support gone.

It now seems AirSimmer is officially without customer support. After the situation that is transpiring in the Avsim FS9 forum, Rob, the only person offering support has resigned from the position.

FS9/FSX. I spoke a lot about ImagineSim at the threshold of joining the elite ranks of what we consider to be the best scenery developers in the industry. With the amazing looks of Taxi2Gate's latest work in progress: Bratislava, i'd say T2G just crossed over it! The kind of photoreal work I expect from D.Design. Nice!

FSX. A beta member of the Xtended project has uploaded an interesting video yesterday evening. According to Mathijs Kok, this week end in Paris, the release was a matter of days but as usual, the end of this kind of mega project is tricky.

FS9/FSX. Honestly, of all Poland has to offer historical wise, all the new airports being built there is worth trip alone. Thanks to Stan and the guys, we won't have to leave the house to get there. I'm blown away!

Best practices in flight simulation !

A lot of commercial and industrial sectors are following the best practices rules to improve their quality. Why the flight simulation market wouldn't have such practices ?

We, the simmers, want to establish a best practices charter for editors and developers.

Here are a few possible ones. Send your one and Airdailyx will post this charter to all editors.

FSX. Here are some very sharp screens of the Airbus Extended. Looks so much like the real thing! Reminded me of my AirNewZealand days when we got the first A320's. We ferried them though L.A. and showed them off. There is nothing like the smell of a brand new A320. Sadly the Airbus Extended will not come with the new airplane smell regardless of how new it looks. Damn this baby is sharp!

I must be stupid !

More than 40 websites and forums checked today and no more than  2 or 3 news found.

6 hours spent this week end to go to the Bourget museum, make pictures, interview, come back to transcript all of this.. and in the meantime ? Simmers-news just post my preview, just like that and let think people it's from him.

And the funny news ? Simmer-news has almost more friends and "i like " than us on Airdailyx. It's a wonderful world and i am really stupid.
