That aircraft carrier and the Tomcat in the video remind me of Fleet Defender: The F-14 Tomcat Simulation from 1994, the graphics barely look much better.
I mean seriously, if we want to fly combat aircraft there is DCS, and it would make a lot more sense to develop this aircraft for DCS as opposed to FSX.
Please don't jump to conclusions. People have spent a lot if time on that add-on. Developers are people who get of their backsides and contribute something to our wonderful hobby which we share.
I am sure there is a profitable market for fighter nets otherwise Aerosoft would not travel invested money into the project.
That video looks sick. imagine more groups flying these on VATSIM, carrying out some air to air recon missions, patrolling the islands eg.uk etc..or covering some training missions across the nap of the earth, all while airline ops are going on. Now that would be pretty sick.
No, you're wrong. You don't speak for me or others like myself. I use the TAC PAC in FS and enjoy flying combat aircraft in FS, because FS has the entire world to fly over. I fly everything in FS, combat aircraft, GA, helo's, commercial airliners, etc. I have also flown many combat sims and if all you want to fly is "Combat," then they are fine. But if you want to fly realistic ops that are flown all over the world, FS is the only choice. So yes, something like this is needed for FS if someone is a Tomcat fan and wants the depth of the VRS SH.

does FSX really need a fighter jet ?
I don't think so.
+1
Don't think so either! FSX is getting more an environment for low-n-slow hobbyists. You count the reasons and driving factors...

FSX needs fighter jets; it satisfies a need that many flight enthusiasts have.
You're making the mistake of thinking everyone uses flight sim the way you do. That's a mistake. One that Aerosoft obviously recognizes.
