Taxi2gate Tegucigalpa : hot test

FS9/FSX. Another version of the mythical Tegicugalpa Toncontin airport in Honduras. 36 months after Latin VFR, Taxi2gate wanted to proove something...  Good work considering the technical challenge of designing this place.

Taxi2gate Toncontin MHTG

Hot test

Version tested : FSX V.1.0
(a little patch is available to cope with crash detection).
File : 300 MB
Installation : Automated.
Manual : No. Just 6 or 7 charts.
Framerate : very friendly, from dual core to high-end machines.

The bad :

* No car traffic !

* Ground textures could have been a little bit better. Especially on runway and taxiways.

* Why this airport ? There is so much to do in Central Americal... Managua, Isla de Baya....

The good :

* This version is modelizing the current airport configuration.
* Much more buildings, better details, including along the final approach.
* Ground textures around the airport are of better quality.
* * * * *
Comparisons with Latin VFR version released in October 2009 :

Some static aircrafts like the DC-3s have been added in Taxi2Gate version. More details and photoreal textures on shops and buildings near the main terminal. The jetways are finely detailed.
However, at dusk and night, i much more appreciate the catchy environment around the airport in Latin VFR scenery. The ground textures were a bit better inside the airport and there was some car traffic around.
Technically, the runway is not sloped, you just get the impression. However, in LVF version, i always have noticed some 20-30 feets of slope.

Please note that Latin VFR has now announced a rework on their own version. The batlle begins...

This does look very nice, can't argue with that. I do agree though, it seems a bit quiet, you know? Too spare in terms of traffic on the roads, the airport environment, it all seems very lonely. Also, perhaps just the screens, but the surrounding textures seem of low quality. But I do like the grass at the airport, the fact that it is up to date with current standards, the drop at the one end looks really cool, jetbridges are great, the approach to 02 looks very nice as well. I think I will hold off just a little while to see the preview pics of the other companies update to their product before I buy this.

But great work to T2G for taking on this project, well done.

I'd say I agree. The only reason I am holding off is I really want to see if LVFR will hit this one out of the parl. What I will say, there really should be some consultation with Oliver to get AESlite running on the roads. That would be awesome as you would get to see traffic moving on the road you follow in. Besides that why would anyone buy this twice. Maybe add more autogen trees and buildings and a higher res photo scenery. But without AESLite what else would determine the choice??

did they sort out the texture problem they had?
