FSX/P3D. Orbx has officially completed the FTX NI project and release is now imminent. Of course it takes time to upload to the servers and all that good stuff but it will be in your hands possibly within the next 24 hours. As a regular visitor to the country, I am really looking forward to matching up my virtual experience to NI with my real world experiences. of course with Orbx, it will be from the air and not just on approach/departure...

So if I go FTX Global installed I should install this as well to get better looking ground at Northern Ireland? Or should I wait for another update that is specifically for FTX Global that will cover Ireland or is this that package.
First we had England with 50,350 sq mi, then Wales with 8,020 sq mi, followed by Scotland with 30,410 sq mi and now Northern Island with 5,470 sq mi. Are these guys serious? Talk about milking your customer base! The whole of Ireland only has 32,595 sq mi, why on earth don't they just do the entire island? I just find this ridiculous, it's certainly not on my buy list.
Eh, because they're two seperate and totally different countries.
Why would that make any difference?
If you like big areas, the South Alaskan one had over 200000 sq miles! think Northrn rockies also had around 200000 sq too, much better value
FTX Regions include everything, roads, railways, custom LC, native ground textures, upgraded airports, photoreal, POI etc.
FTX Global is just a texture replacement addon like GEX but better and with better night lighting.
FTX Vatican City will blow your socks off.
I agree - and all at the same price! At least with Wales they did a great payware quality EGFF - that made it much better value. But no airport with this by the looks of it. A little poor in my opinion (unless they drop the price to reflect this)
LOL!
The Wales and Northern Ireland regions are just not worth it. At least if they included photoreal Cardiff and Belfast, I'd have got them as there would have been something to explore which was worth the same price as the much, much larger US and Aussie regions.
Even England, which is still pretty small compared with American and aussie FTX regions has a decent city of London. "Free Cardiff airport" I here some say? So what, PNW has Free photoreal city of Portland, which is bigger than Cardiff and Bowermann airport etc. Aussie regions have loads of free airport. That makes Wales with its piddly 8000 sq km even less value for money when that feeble argument is used. And Northern Ireland which is TINY doesn't even have that. Sorry but what a joke! Put all the FTX regions together side-by-side with their respective available freewares and their prices and Wales and Northern Ireland with just one airport and no city scenery between them and such TINY landmass are not fairly sold, by any measure. That's just the facts as they stand. Add something of sufficient interest for customers to pay the same price as for a 200,000 sq km region with freeware photoreal city and airport (such as PNW) and then many more people will accept justification of a product being fairly priced. In the case of Europe in general this is simply inconsistent pricing for nowhere near justifiable and inconsistent reasons when compared with products on the American and Oceania continents. That is a viewpoint we all know many potential customers do have. That's the pity...simple inconsistency...its a shame but the vendor doesn't care as its happy with fanbase buyers alone and doesn't think this is important...At least, that's the impression given whenever justification is attempted. Such a shame. But all that said, it is upto them and that's fine with me as I'll keep on buying the interesting products and leaving out the others. That what a simmer does. Sorry for negativity but it saves a load of other people going on about this constantly repeated issue. I like the older, bigger value-for-money ORBX products, to keep some balance. Thanks! Bye!
^ Ain't nobody got time for that.
