The first thing you will notice when loading up the aircraft is that the virtual cockpit looks fantastic, there is a feeling of actually being there! Cockpit textures a clear and crisp, and EFIS screens look great even up close.
Next, you will be forced to go through at least some basic checklists to get the Q400 up and running. This is no problem with the included pilots manual. You may also notice that FPS performance is incredible for an advanced aircraft such as this. As mentioned above, I had no problem maintaining 30FPS at FSDreamTeam LAX, this is a first for me with an advanced aircraft. I have left the FPS counter visible in several screenshots to reinforce this point.
The Q400 handles well, similar to what you'd expect from this genre of aircraft. The exterior model is very high quality. Even the animated pilots seems particularly busy and active. Everything is just well done and delivered in a complete package! In fact, this may be the aircraft that gets me back into commercial FSX flying...it's just that good.
This is of course the "Pilot" edition, two more advanced versions still to come. I won't comment on the systems as this was just a very quick look, but I am confident this aircraft will satisfy most advanced simmers, at least until the "Training" and "Pro" editions are released.
If I were to summarize my initial experience with this product...this may very well be the most impressive add-on aircraft in a very long time...

Very excited about it all, especially about the FPS you're getting. No use in having such an advanced aircraft with very low frames.
Really getting my money's worth here, This Q400 addon is near PMDG-level complex plus a working weather radar. with a 5GHz rig FPS is no issue here, even with Flytampa Montreal + Full AI traffic + Real world WX.

Beware the tutorial flight document is still not fixed, despite their most recent comments.
Solution: Since the FRANX6 arrival at Montreal no longer exists, you'll need to go REEDO and use the HABBS2 arrival, MIGLO transition. Chop off MIGLO and the STAR will start at REEDO. Start thinking of descending at REEDO as you'll need to be below at least 16000ft by HABBS for RWY 28/24L/R, or below 9000ft for RWY 10/06L/R.

Just thought about it a bit more, this Q400 IMO actually exceeds the level of complexity in the PMDG Jetstream 41.

Sorry for multi post but I forgot to ask about the tutorial flight document. Is it so understandable like the PMDG NGX's one? I learned the basics from it, before I subscribed to AOA, but there isn't any tutorial videos for this one in the market.

The EFIS displays and FMS can be displayed in separate pop up windows. Yes, the tutorial is very straightforward and easy to understand. Very worthwhile product!

IMO The Majestic tutorial flight document is definitely not as well written as PMDG's work, and transitioning from a jet (or piston GA w/ CSU) to a turboprop is a real challenge in itself.
For example some of the switches' locations are not discussed and difficult to find manually (e.g. hydraulic switches) or operate. (e.g. transponder) Also the document describes a STAR which no longer exists in real life or the nav database, they said they would fix it but they didn't.

Well, this plane (as all turboprops)is not capable of doing an autoland - you will have to hand-fly the plane at some stages. Btw, i personally wouldn't pay that amount of money for such a (wonderful) complex aircraft if i only would fly via the autopilot.... Freeware and those "shiny" show-off addons should be more than enough if i dont care about realism and complextity.
Just the default FSX weather engine.

My Vcore is 1.355 and that is holding 4.7Ghz very stable at reasonable temps. My only FSX.cfg tweaks are as follows:

You can't compare the good 'ol J41 with the new and advanced Q400! Both are completely different aircraft.
