FSX. Anyone remember the NLS A380 project? IMPRESSIVE to say the least...however
If anyone knows of any links / updates or can shed any light on this, lets start a discussion below on what we know and don't know about this project. I will investigate further over the next few days and try to leverage information and state of play for the NLS A380.

Please tell me it is for FS9 also.
Really wishing for FS9
you guys are missing out on so much that FSX has to offer. I used to feel exactly the same way, not wanting to leave fs9, mainly because I had all my addon's and pss777 was my ultimate machine that I would always fly, however, since moving to FSX, its opened more doors than you can imagine, realism from vibrations in cockpit, more realistic models and response / feel is much more dynamic. Consider making the change and you will not be going back, i promise you that!
Agreed, and with properly setting up FSX, performance really isn't an issue anymore.
AFAIK The project is dead, vaporware. NLS is a one man band and he simply didn't have any spare time to do it. 3D model is pretty much done but like all payware addon projects the real hard work is gauge programming, especially Airbus FBW.
I sort of knew this from the beginning because doing an A380 that is above Wilco quality is simply impossible for 1 person in his/her spare time. You need a full dev team committed to multi-year development to pull it off.
Yea another project six feets under..
How many times will we have to repear that's a non sense to make a heavy project alone.. especially if it's your first one on FSX.

Firstly, the project wasn't being done by one person. Secondly, it wasn't their first product either. The main person working on this had also worked on the SSTSIM Conc/FSL Conc and on the SimCheck A300.
Doing "above Wilco quality" addons would be a piece of cake. Wilco is polished Abacus. There are freeware projects out there with 10 times the quality of your average Wilco product.
Judging by SimCheck A300 reputation, it's not the quality of NLS' craftsmanship that I doubt. It's their capability to deliver. Unless another developer steps in (like the A300), this project will not see the light of day. Aerosoft people do a lot of outsourcing. PMDG would be a dream come true.
Yeah nowadays I have this feeling that I'm missing much things.
Well few months ago I've installed FSX on my machine: AMD Phenom II x4 965BE OC to 3.6ghz, GF460gtx, 4 gb of DDR2 memory.
I've applied some tweaks, set medium settings... Default CRJ plus ASE over Switzerland - not bad 25 fps after takeoff from Zurich, but world looked worse than my overloaded with addons FS9. I've said to myself Ok let's give it a chance (Adjusting some settings), approach to stock Geneve airport - drop to 12fps - damn.
On my FS9 with Ifly 737, huge fancy airport, ASE plus REX, lot of AI Traffic/or VATSIM I never had less than 20 fps on approach (except some problematic sceneries like Orly or Sharm where you have to turn off ground shadows).
AND again, awesome addons but a company forgetting or ignoring about 35-40% of FS Users.....
FS9
Sorry for my English. We carry the fact that the NLS has abandoned the project for the reasons cited by the same developer described in a note posted on their facebook profile.
Too bad we had hoped.
greetings
